Hearthstone

Welcome to the world of Heartstone. The new world that some of my stories are based in. Malaga and the Rogue faerie Brood" and
"The wives of the brothers Howe and their differently abled children" or "Howe's mansion for Deaf, Disabled and Destitute humans"

This world was invaded by demons who caused all the humans to go completely deaf.

The countries with high literacy rates and/or signing deaf communities fared better in switching to sign language and passing along notes. They formed resistance groups along with faeries and werewolves and were able to defeat the demons. Whereas the people in countries with high rates of illiteracy and little use of sign language were at the demons mercy.

Healers that specialised in audiology were able to partially restore some people hearing. Blind people and preschoolers were given top priority for this. Centres to restore hearing and teach better blind skills were set up. Including one at the Howe mansion.

They also mass produce a little box called a speech amplifier. Based on a hearing aid that a settler from earth had. (Via parallel worlds). Tessa's hearing aids only worked for her until the batteries ran out. Sadly Tessa (who had usher syndrome) was never able to benefit from the new device which took decades to make by which time her hearing had deteriorated too much as well as her sight . Three of her children (who inherited her usher syndrome) did though. The difference between an older 1980's bodily worn hearing aid and a speech amplifier is that it doesn't run on batteries. You charge it up with magic. Hard of hearing Hum (human un-magical). Just had to ask a magic user nicely or pay them.

1810/3100: Delish clan leave earth
3300: Lucas Howe born premature. corrupt father Vulcan sells him to Demon queen
1950/3340: Fiona great grandma leaves earth
3364: Bella born
1984/3374: Tess,  Toni and Lynn Woodson leave earth
3395: Belinda born. pistol invented.
September 3400: start of first demon war. Jaguar and Panther born.
November 3402: human win war but fall Ill with a severe outbreaks of meningitis. 
June 3403: Kasida born
February 3407: Kasida's bro Ramen born deaf. Whole Family learn sign language for him. 
April 3407: Alberta Sasha and Sepia also born

June 3408: Speech amplifiers invented. Guns are confiscated by demon king's human side kick Veniam mast,  Igor and Vulcan How. The old king of Tureen (queen Lily Ash's father) is murdered in mysterious circumstances along with his whole family. Contrary to future accusations neither the Queen or king Rafiq White have any part in this.

October 3408: Queen Lily Ash and King Rafiq White are crowned king and Queen . While distracted  by the celebrations Demons deafen all humans in Tureen with enchanted extra loud fireworks.
June 3410: Ansel Mead is born micro premature and Blind. war starts
July 3410: demon occupy most of Heartstone include Whifan. Hearthstone. Set up base there. Resistance in Tureen, Wardell, and Elba.
October 3411: Peria falls to demon occupation. Thornky under siege. 
November 3411: Hazel second triplets are born
May 3412 Ursula, Ruby, Lisa, Rani, Gita, Gina and Tami born (Septuplet).
April 3413 In an effort to win the war Demons deafen humans again except several of the soldiers and civilians were already Deaf and the army had since started to sign along with telepathy, written messages and morse code.
May 3413: war won. Lucas Howe inherits his father mansion
June 3413 Veniam Mast, Vulcan and Igor Howe executed for murder, collaborating with the demons and other war crimes.  300 Babies saved from mass Breeding program and the mob who wants to to burn them alive as 'monsters' . Dwaine the healer murdered for putting mob to sleep while the babies were evacuated . resistance Split between pro-life healers and others. Tiger and River born. women are pressurised to abort 'monsters'
November 3413: pregnant women go to Faron. Panther bats away bomb. Princess Ember born
February 3414: Leah, Abel and Belinda give birth. Lioness Blake, Maisie and Maria born. Jaguar kicked out for slapping Faerie.
September 3414 Brannon and Athril born
June 3415 queen start to settle. Mala and Layla born
August 3415 Panther and Bella blood sworn and Panther and Jaguar trained at healing centre.
