Sorry for the delay ☺️ But, I am an official High School Alumni 😝 So more frequent updates. Yay! So now to the update.
I am beyond excited.
Micah said she has a full day of plans ahead for me and I was ready for some girl fun.
I took Syre to school and arranged for my mom to pick him up after.
I made sure I took my time getting myself dressed, I blasted music from my speakers as I did so.
I went to grab my mail before getting dressed and I spotted Alice dragging a box up the stairs, a very huge box. I tucked my mail under my arm and ran over to help her.
"Girl, what are you doing with such a huge box?"
She grunted in response, we pushed and pulled until we made into the house. After we had settled it in what seemed to be Addison's room, we stood looking at it both our hands resting on our hips.
"Ma'Kai I have to confess I lied last night, I actually got in touch with Addison's father actually he contacted me. I have no idea how he found me but um he just wanted to catch up and that's when I told him about Addison. He was really excited and he bought me this place, and he sent me this box and I'm just wondering what's going on here."
She was slightly tearing up and I smiled at her.
"Girl, be happy most men would run after five years of not knowing about they child, I'm surprised he didn't deny that she was his."
"Why would you say that?"
"Well from looking at Addison last night, her father is black but that has nothing to do with it, It has been five years and then you just tell him and he accepts. That is rare."
She started laughing and crying at the same time.
"You know when Addison was born I tried hiding that from everyone that I slept with a black guy. But when they put two and two together it was just horrible."
"Girl, don't worry about them you got me now, you don't have to worry about that shit."
"Thanks Ma'Kai, I'm not looking for a relationship with Addison's father I just want her to grow up with a father figure you know what I mean?"
"Yea, I know exactly what you mean. Syre's father is around but he cares more about his new baby momma than his own son. So I cut him off, Syre has my dad and my brother to help him grow up. Hey you know what? Why don't you and Addison come to Syre's party on Sunday it starts at one."
"Oooh somewhere to go we'll be there."
I started walking to the front of the house when a huge banging on the door made me freeze.
Alice ran in front of me quickly.
"Shit listen Ma'Kai you need to hide okay, hide in Addison's room and don't come out whatsoever until I say so."
I didn't need to be told twice I went straight for the closet and closed the door slowly waiting for Alice but listening out as well.
"Where's my money Alice?"
"I'll have it by the end of the week I promise"
"How many times have I heard that one Alice, end of the week or I'm going to kill you, I swear on it."
I waited till I heard the door slam before I emerged, I found a slumped over Alice in the couch crying.
"Alice, how much do you need?"
