Hey guys I'm back from my unannounced break! Sorry about that, it was the holidays and then I had a bunch of work to catch up on and then I had finals and it was all very stressful. My new semester is much less stressful though, so hopefully I'll be back to weekly updates on Spreading Nightmares, enjoy this one!
Jack looked around, trying to find Lilith and Sandy, (or rather, Oogie Boogie) but they were nowhere to be seen. He was beginning to get worried, he couldn't lose Lilith again after he had just had her in his arms. He looked to the throne hoping that Briar would be able to tell him where they had gone, but Briar was missing as well. Jack began to walk through the town to search further, but the elves running about tripped him and he fell down. Jack braced himself to hit the floor, but instead he landed on top of the elves, who carried him with him as they scurried around. Jack sat up, letting himself be carried away by the elves. He looked to where they were going and saw a familiar sleigh piled to the brim with strange looking presents. It looked like Lilith was trying to follow in her father's footsteps. The giant sack towered over him like a skyscraper in an empty field. The sleigh was made from a coffin, what appeared to be the same one Jack had used on that fateful night. Jack pried his eyes away from the sleigh for just long enough to see Oogie, Lilith, and Briar in a thin alleyway. Jack tried to make his way over to it, but the mob of elves kept him moving towards the sleigh.
"I must say, Lilith, I'm impressed," Said Oogie Boogie, "you've really transformed this place!" Lilith grinned proudly. "Well, I couldn't have done it without Briar." She said, gesturing to them. "Yeah, I was really essential." Said Briar. "Mhm, sure," Oogie said dismissively, "dare I say, Lilith, you've made a Neo-Halloween Town!" he chuckled to himself. "I'm a huge fan of your work, really" Continued Oogie, "in fact I'd love to take it over myself! How much? Name your price." Lilith's jaw dropped to the floor, she quickly bent down to pick it up and put it back into its socket. "Can we have a moment?" Lilith asked Oogie. She grabbed Briar and moved them out of range of Oogie's hearing. "Should we sell this place to Oogie?" Asked Lilith, "He did say 'name your price', we could ask for anything..." Briar thought for a moment, looking a little disappointed. "I dunno, Lilith." They said, "Oogie Boogie is the town reject for a reason, not to mention we made this place, we should get to keep it." Lilith nodded her skull. "Y'know," said Oogie, "there are other doors too, that lead to other towns. You could give any one of those towns a makeover and keep it all for yourself!" "Why don't you do that then?" Asked Briar. "You two are the visionaries, I could never make a place look this good, I'm sure you could make an even better place on your second try!" Lilith and Briar both paused to think for a moment. They made eye contact. Briar shrugged, Lilith nodded. She reached out to grab Oogie's hand and make a deal.
