just three more hours before she could go home. well, to the place she called home, at least. she couldn't wait to go and sleep for the whole evening. the thought delighted her, and she suddenly felt optimistic to make it through the remainder of today.

running along behind her was rosemi, "y/n, there you are! mysta was looking for you earlier," she laughed awkwardly, remembering their encounter. on a tuesday they had creative writing together, along with petra. it was easy enough - she just had to write down whatever happened to be in her mind at the time.

"hello rosemi! oh, yeah - i found him," she smiled, grateful for the notice. so he really had looked for her? "have you seen selen today? she left quickly this morning, didn't say where,"

walking beside eachother at a slower pace towards their class, "she did? i saw her this morning in a rush - said she had to show someone around, or something like that,"

"ohh! we can find her later then, let's go,"

class had finally ended, and she now had just one left before she could go snuggle up in pillows.

her two friends had chosen to go and find out where selen could possibly be. not wanting to aimlessly trail them, y/n agreed to wait for them in their usual spot in the library. saddened by the 'no food allowed' rule in the library, it was usually their second option. at other times, they'd just sneak snacks inside, and take small bites when nobody was watching. their usual spot was sad and bare, anyway. sitting near a shelf where the cookbooks lay - nobody ever read those, they noticed.

glancing around the library, which was quiet as ever, with many studying as most students were on their break. she decided to do something useful while waiting for her friends, it was about time for her to find some relevant history textbooks for her project with mysta. the history books were quite hidden in the library, untouched and dusty - they sat highly on the shelf, having not been used in a long time.

realising that she'd need something to stand on to reach up, she glanced around for a chair. at an unoccupied table were a few empty chairs. in a place so quiet, she gently lifted the chair over to where the books she needed were. setting it down, she made sure to check that the chair wouldn't just collapse or move.

hesitantly standing herself up on the chair, she held onto the wooden shelf for support. now on her toes, she could feel the books against her fingertips, she just needed to move them a little closer now...

"you'll fall if you try to do that," a soft voice spoke. rather threatening but awfully calming. it shocked her, finding herself nearly shriek or be knocked from her feet. still holding onto the shelf to prevent herself from falling, she gulped. fearing that she was in trouble, she turned to the side slightly, but was surprised to see her new classmate stood behind her. he was holding a stack of books, about to return them to their original places. "why not ask for help?" he sighed, recognising the girl from his mathematics class.

ike eveland, so perfect up close. scarily beautiful, had she realised before?

feeling cornered and confronted, she stumbled a little. falling for ike eveland... haha?

"right... sorry," she croaked. she pondered on whether she should even be apologising. ever since she'd
first met him, y/n couldn't help but find ike the slightest bit scary.

"don't worry about it," he coaxed with a gentle smile, "just come down from there before you hurt yourself; i will grab the books for you,"

so gentlemanly... what was so scary about him?
