"are you serious?!" y/n scowled, with anger that even she could not believe she harboured.

fishing though her pockets and backpack, her room key was nowhere to be found. she'd looked just about everywhere - even in crevices holding nothing but old crumbs and dust - places that her key couldn't possibly be.

if only she could actually get into her dorm, she would be able to begin her fortune telling business; y/n was magically able to predict that she had forgotten something without actually knowing what it was! if that wasn't sufficient proof that she had powers, then nothing else could prove it.

if the situation wasn't so frustrating, then she may have actually laughed.

with selen currently out buying food, y/n really had no other way of getting into the dorm. well, now what would she do?

with just herself and the pattering rain, and hopefully no other students that heard her rant, she'd have to go on a walk. although the dorm building was warm and dry, y/n would get bored waiting for her dormmate. plus, a quiet walk may calm her jittery nerves.

most students were on their way home now, so it would get much quieter with time.

after circling the perimeter of a building four times, she was beginning to feel like a poor puppy waiting for its owner to return. just how long would it take for selen to return and save her from her own foolishness? her legs were beginning to hurt from all of this walking.

before her, a bench shone out to her temptingly, overpowering the murky clouds. it was wet, but she didn't seem to care. she didn't know what time it was or how long had passed, but she hoped that selen would return soon...

there were no hollers of birds, nor chattering of students. it seemed something like an apocalypse, but y/n didn't mind at all: the silence was harmless.

almost as quickly as it had come, the rain disappeared - or so she thought. a waterproof shelter had been placed over her head, preventing her from getting any wetter. the sound of rain echoed above her and a smooth voice reached her ears: "you like the rain?"

a hand was held out in front of her. she quickly rose her head to see the hand's owner, startled by the additional presence. stood before her was a tall guy; the dominant aura around him was a contrast to the light pink apron that he wore. his dark, well kept hair was loosely tied back.

did she know this guy? hopefully not, because she had no clue who he was.

she chuckled slightly at the irony of the question, "hmm... the rain isn't very likeable at all,"

her hair was stuck to her forehead, and he paused before stating: "you look a little drenched... you might get sick," he would've offered her a sweater or jacket, but he had nothing like that right now - just his trusty umbrella.

eyes of kindling fire peered worriedly at her, easily detecting the girl's unease. y/n smiled, just slightly, inviting him to join her. and so he did. he sat at the other side of the bench, leaving a comfy distance between them both. he didn't hesitate, despite how wet the bench was. briefly, they gazed at one another.

his eyes were beautiful - yellow - like cheese, she thought. cheese... it reminded her of how hungry she was. his eyes of gold made him seem noble; could someone like her even be seen with him?

y/n hoped that her silence would speak loud enough - she was truly grateful that this person cared enough to engage with her.

even though they were two wholely different people, who didn't even know each other and likely didn't have anything in common, they both shared a same loneliness.
