today was not a good day; rain poured down miserably from the ashy sky, and all was shrouded by darkened clouds. the sky lacked light, making it seem later than it was, despite y/n just waking up.

groaning, she launched an innocent pillow across her room; maybe she should've stayed asleep. her eyes couldn't not look droopy and purple - she felt as tired as ever.

selen had woken her up this morning to let her know that she was leaving early again. barely awake, selen had just morphed into a figment of her dreams. already past her final alarm, she was late.

with a simple glance at her alarm clock, she noticed that it was already eight twenty seven, and class begun in approximately three minutes.

of course, her day had already started miserably - rain bought nothing but bad luck.

despite being so late, she was not in the race against time. she found that if she was already late, then there'd be no harm in being a little later. dragging herself out of her coccoon, she ventured through the belongings strung across the floor, searching for her uniform and supplies. it must've been a superpower of hers to live in a room so messy.

struggling to put her shoe on, she tripped over her own feet; at least now she was out of her room.

with a quick glance in the fridge, she was unsurprised to see that it was still empty. that's right! selen mentioned that she'd go shopping for food today. instead, she didn't care for the lack of food in their room, she was already late.

and now, y/n would begin her day with a joyful run; a fruitless race against time, considering how she had already lost.

crossing between the dormitories, rainfall dampened her somewhat messy hair. with water slowly pooling over the pathways, each heavy footing of hers against the floor splashed water right back at her. it was so unpleasant; she hated rain.

conflicted, she felt as though she had forgotten something important.

upon entering the building, she dried her shoes so that she wouldn't foolishly slip. further ahead, she noticed a black notebook on the floor. walking closer, it may have even been a diary, with its gold lock. and not too far away, there was a female student running.

did she drop it?

glancing at the object in her possession, the name 'vox' was engraved into it. since y/n was such a nice person, she'd exert all of her strength to return it to her.

"hey!" she called, voice barely louder than usual, "miss, wait!"

luckily, her calls reached the other girl and she turned around, brown hair swaying behind her so elegantly. she'd never seen her before, but when does y/n ever pay attention? when the other student saw what she held, y/n could swear that she began to sweat. she seemed awfully guilty... of something.

totally ignoring her, the other female quickly began running again - she didn't even take her diary! all her efforts were wasted: where would she even find this girl again? y/n didn't want the diary, but she couldn't leave it there. she didn't dare to call out to her again, finding that this whole situation was quite a bother.

y/n stared at the book in her hands. she wasn't a nosy person, rather, she didn't care enough to find out what was inside. sighing, she agreed to return it later. although, it'd weigh her down (somehow) - her bag already weighed a ton.

she had no choice but to run along to her first period, along with the sleek, black notebook.
