"So it meant more to you?"

"Of course it did."

"Then why did you go into a new relationship with someone else?"

"It's fake, because we were both trying to move on. But if you feel the same...I'll break it off."

"Then would you go out with me?"

"I'd love to."

Breaking off her 'thing' with Kyle was much easier than Erica thought, because it turned out she hadn't been the only one to get a confession.

"That's freaky, but I'm happy for you," Erica said.

"Thanks, and I'm happy for you."

"I have a date to set up, so I'll see you around."

"See ya."

Erica texted Stacy to arrange a time, place and date.

She was so excited for this.

Stacy and Erica's first date was at Stark's Pond.

Neither of them could believe it was happening, at long last.

It was a sweet and simple first date, eating chocolate cake and strawberries near the water.

"I'm glad we're finally here, like on a date," Stacy said.

Erica laughed. "Thanks for clarifying, because we have both come here before."

The two of them laughed.

"But I'm glad too, very happy to be with you."

Stacy blushed and ate some more.

"I wish I'd confessed to you sooner, before you decided to do a fake relationship to move on from someone who actually did like you back," she said at last.

But she muttered something under her breath, and while Erica didn't hear it she knew Stacy had said something else.

"What did you say?"

"That I wish-"

"Not that part, the bit you added but said really quietly so I couldn't hear."

"...how do you know I said something else?"

"Because I heard, and you just hesitated."

Damn it.

"Fine...I said I think I love you, but of course on a first date I can't really say that-"

Erica closes the gap between then and kisses her.

Just like that night.

"You told me you fell in love with me when you confessed. Do you still feel like that?" Erica asked.

"Yes," Stacy replied, no hesitation.

The brunette smiled. "Good, because I fell for you too."

"...so, you're in love with me?"

"Yeah, have been for a while."

"Same here, with you."

That first date was considered a great success.

And there were many more after that, in public and private places all around South Park.

The two decided after 5 successful dates to be girlfriends, to be official.

No one was properly told, everyone just kinda figured it out even before they made it official.

"And it started in a CLOSET? Ironic," Kylie had commented.

"Yeah, but that's how it went," Stacy shrugged, "we're finally going out."

"Finally, because you're painful to watch over the summer."

"I'm dating your frenemy, that should be more painful to watch."

"Yeah, my frenemy dated my brother and is now dating my best friend. That is hard to watch, actually, but it's funny."

"How's dating Stacy going?" Kyle asked.

Erica smiled. "Amazing. How's dating Henrietta going?"

"She's great, it's great," he smiled, pure happiness.

"I'm glad it all worked out."

"Me too."

Oh, if only it could be that simple.

Stacy and Erica seemed like the absolute perfect couple.

They weren't, because those two hadn't been completely honest with each other.

Not about how they felt, there was so much honesty in those confessions it's crazy.

No, it was more troubling things.
