Your Love Is My Drug

(cw for drug use and overdose)

Somewhere in high school, Stacy tried drugs.

Not because she was pressured, or dared, or anything like that.

But because she was curious.

"Just once," she had said.

To make a long story short, it wasn't a one time thing.

Stacy became addicted, but that wasn't the only thing she became addicted to.

The drugs made her 'happy' but so did Erica, right?

She was addicted to her girlfriend's love, that's how she put it.

(If Erica didn't have her own problems she was trying to hide, she might've recognised this as a big one)

...

Stacy was big on public displays of affection, Erica soon found out.

A lot of it.

Hand holding, kisses, being as close as possible whenever she could...

Erica didn't think much of it.

Meanwhile, Stacy was obsessed and kind of possessive as Kylie had put it.

And since her best friend wouldn't listen, she of course went to her frenemy.

"The clinginess, wanting to be near you all the time, endless PDA...it's just too weird, I think you both went into this too fast," Kylie said.

But of course, Erica didn't listen.

"It's fine, I don't care. Just stay out of it, leave it alone."

Kylie let it go.

...

Stacy may have gotten sloppy.

Out of all people, her best friend had to catch her and tell her to come clean.

"You need help before you overdose," Kylie said.

"If I need help, which I don't, I'll ask for it!" Stacy had yelled.

So, Erica was told.

And she had similar results when she tried talking to her.

Kylie decided to escalate it.

She, Kendra and Erica dragged Stacy into an intervention.

But she would refuse to listen and scream for drugs, insulting and demanding and just being difficult.

She was a different person, and it was terrifying.

Kylie went and she found drugs and brought them back, to Stacy's delight.

"If only you were as loyal, Erica. At least she listens, when I say I need something."

But the delight turned to horror when Kylie took the drugs herself.

"I take more every five minutes until you agree to get help, and if I overdose then no one gets help until you agree to get help."

Stacy didn't think Kylie was serious, until she watched her best friend down more and more until she fell to the ground and wouldn't wake up.

"No! Erica, please, she needs help. You can't just stand there and let her die, do something!"

"Say you'll go to rehab," Erica just said.

"Yes! Okay! I'll go, I promise I will, just save her!"

...

Kylie survived and Stacy went off to rehab as soon as she knew she'd come back to an alive best friend.

She didn't know if she'd come back to a girlfriend, she wouldn't blame Erica if she wanted to end it.

Stacy spent a few months away and came back to find Erica had waited.

Despite all of it, she had waited.

Their relationship easily got back on track, but now without the parts Kylie had warned were toxic.

Speaking of Kylie, Stacy had been real surprised to have her best friend back considering how things didn't end too well with them.

But Kylie's just glad she got help, and hugs her with an apology for the extreme action taken.

Things are okay now.

Stacy is back and she's clearly doing a lot better.

Erica is happy to have her girlfriend back, healthier and happier.

"I missed you."

"I missed you even more, but I don't have to anymore."

"It's good to have you back."

The relationship had survived a major hurdle, and everything was okay now!

...right?

(Of course not)
