I met the twins on the bus to go home.
"So is Alex your boyfriend yet?" Jonathan asked as he sat by me. Jordan turned from his seat in front of us as his head popped up.
"You have a boyfriend already?" Jordan asked.
"He's not my boyfriend! He's just... an acquaintance..."
"Sure," Jonathan said.
"Well Jordan couldn't stop looking at Sarah!" I spat as Jordan blushed.
"That's different... we hung out when we were younger," Jordan tried.
"Whatever. So you think Mom and dad would let us go to this bonfire?" I asked them.
"We could just say we're meeting Sarah," Jordan tried.
"In case you've forgotten Jordan, none of us can legally drive," I pointed out.
"We'll figure it out Sam. Just follow my lead," Jonathan said. Jordan seemed tense all of a sudden as I shook his arm.
"Hey what's wrong?" I asked as he opened his eyes.
"Just a headache."
"Probably from overthinking about Sarah," Jonathan teased. Jordan slapped him from his seat.
"Boys," I groaned.
