Nigel got back on the stage with Patrick and started tuning his guitar.
"Nigel... what are you doing?" said Patrick.
"We're gonna give Preston and his beady-eyed buddy a performance they'll never forget" said Nigel toughly.
"Nigel, you and Edward Preston have been rivals since high school" said Patrick.
"And I'll finally give him the final showdown. Thank heavens we've memorized this song" said Nigel.
Edward and Frank got onto the stage with them and looked them in the eye once again.
"Edward, I don't know why we're even.." Frank began.
"Shut your gob, Wetherley!" Edward snapped.
"Okay" said Frank weakly.
Edward leaned over Nigel's sheet music stand and said "Now just try and impress me."
Nigel sneered at his old rival and started playing and singing with Patrick.
Trees swaying in the summer breeze
Showing off their silver leaves as we walk by
Soft kisses on a summer's day
Laughing all our cares away, just you and I
Sweet, sleepy warmth of summer nights
Gazing at the distant lights in the starry sky
They say that all good things must end someday
Autumn leaves must fall
But don't you know that it hurts me so
To say goodbye to you
Wish you didn't have to go, no no no no
And when the rain beats against my windowpane
I'll think of summer days again and dream of you
They say that all good things must end someday
Autumn leaves must fall
But don't you know that it hurts me so
To say goodbye to you
Wish you didn't have to go, no no no no
And when the rain beats against my windowpane
I'll think of summer days again and dream of you
And dream of you
The whole hotel went wild for the performance.
Frank wanted to applaud with them, but Edward smacked his hands to stop him.
"Well, Preston? What do you think?" said Nigel with sass.
"That was pretty good. Only one thing. You played a C chord when it was supposed to be G minor!" said Edward.
"What?" said Nigel.
"He wouldn't!" said Patrick.
"Jazzy performing youngsters? I don't think so. You lose!" Edward cackled.
