Xiao POV:

Aether was cuddled up to my chest for so long he fell asleep, after almost an hour his phone lit up, the notification said 'check Paimon's temperature'
He must have set a reminder for himself. I looked down at his resting body and gently moved him off so I could get up. He's been checking her temperature hourly and is probably exhausted, so I might as well help him out while he rests. I walked over to Paimon and pressed my hand to her forehead as I had seen Aether do. Her head wasn't hot, it seemed average temperature so her fever must have gone, now we just needed to make it stay that way.
Aether only slept for about twenty minutes until he forced himself awake, suddenly remembering to check Paimon's temperature.
"Oh no! I fell asleep"
He began to rush out of bed to Paimon
"It's fine, I checked for you. Her fever calmed down"
"Oh phew.. thanks Xiao"
"..hey Aether? You did say we were boyfriends.. right? Not just my imagination?"
"Yup, we are aren't we?"
"Yeah.. uh just checking"
I thought for a while about that Arataki guy
"oh I guess I made a friend while getting medicine.."
"Oh really? That's good, who?"
"Arataki Itto? He said he'd like to meet you one day"
"Hmm would you get jealous if I hung out with him?"
I could tell he was only teasing
"No, he's taken"
"I think Kazu is too though"
"He is?"
"Yeah he was telling me about this guy named Tomo or something, said he really loved him, but maybe they broke up because he always sounds sad when he brings him up"
"Oh.."

Two days pass and Paimon recovers from her sickness bc idk what to write

Aether POV:

We all got ready and we're gonna go shopping in the main street
I followed Xiao and Paimon tagged along. When we got there it was pretty crowded but not bad enough to the point I'd get lost.
"Heyy Adeptus Xiao my bro! This is my boyfriend I was talkin bout"
"Nice to meet you"
"Greetings"
"Ohoho is this your partner!?"
He elbowed in the side playfully to show Xiao who he was talking about, I felt myself blush a little realizing Xiao told people about me.
"Y-yeah.."
Xiao was also kind of flustered
"Cool!"
The tall man took my hand and shook it
"I'm Arataki Itto! You?"
"Aether, pleasure to meet you"
"Uhh did you say this was a dude or a girl..sorry bro I confuse them gays and straights I talk to, they're all cool with me"
"..I-"
I was about to reveal my gender to him but got too embarrassed when I saw him staring at my body trying to find out himself by looking..
"Itto!"
"Ahah- my bad, sorry"
"I'm male.. i-its alright though with my hair's length I'm not surprised you got confused"
"Not an excuse for his staring though"
I saw the dog looking boy give Itto a stern look like a disappointed parent
Even though the boy was much shorter, thinner, and appeared to be physically weaker than Itto I still felt an uneasy feeling rise in Itto.
"Oh, apologies! I'm general Gorou"
"Aether"
I shook his hand..or is it paw..?
We talked to them two for a little while until I felt a tug on the bottom of my shirt
-"come onnn Paimon's hungry!!"
"Oh alright, see you around then"
"Goodbye!"
"Bye dudes!"
Paimon ran off to the closet food shop and pulled Xiao and I along with her.
-"ooh all of them look super yummy to Paimon!"
"Just choose"
-"Hmm Paimon wants the tricolor dango please!"
"Okay"
I paid for Paimon's dango and then gave it to her, Xiao was silent most of the conversation with Itto and Gorou.. in fact he had been basically silent since Itto had asked my gender, I hope he wasn't jealous again
"Xiao, is everything alright?"
I looked over at him and he quickly looked up at me
"Uh- I- yes, sorry did I seem upset?"
"No, you've just been awfully quiet, what were you looking at?"
His face was painted with a light hint of red all over
"N-nothing"
"Fine, at least tell me when Paimon falls asleep, kay?"
"Fine"
For hours Paimon ran around begging for souvenirs and food from shops until the sun finally began to set and we made our way back to the inn.
Paimon yawned
-"augh Paimon is soo sleepy"
"Then get some rest, tomorrow is a new day"
-"okay, goodnight traveler, goodnight Xiao"
"Goodnight"
"Sleep well.. er- Paimon"
I sat by Xiao and looked at him eagerly
"Soo?"
"Pardon?"
"What were you looking at earlier?"
"You.."
"Me?"
"The more I stare at your body the more that night gets less hazy.. I can picture almost every perspective of your bare body-"
My face clearly showed how shocked I was, and embarrassed too
"Sorry, I didn't mean it like that- well I did..but not as straight forward"
"It's fine..do you think I'm ugly?"
"Of course not, why would I ever?"
I looked down, away from his dreamy comforting eyes
"Nothing.. nevermind- ah- um goodnight!"
" 'night"
I laid down by Xiao and waited for sleep to take me into it's comforting arms
