Chapter 19: Ending

Jungkook heard a voice appear in his ears. A familiar voice he recognised. 

You came in view. The police held his hands to handcuff him and it bewildered you.

Your reaction couldn't be expressed how miserable the time when Jungkook got caught by the police officer was. 

Your eyes stung and it watered the entire socket.

You shook your head in disbelief the moment you had witnessed with your sight.

Then, Jungkook saw you standing there like a stone.

It was his last moment. You realized as the thought of it hit your head.

"Kim Y/n... I-I want to say that" Jungkook mumbled at you. 

The gap separates between you two was 10 meters.

He caused a lot of pain and tortured you so he thought it was best for him to rot in jail rather than live with the same air as you.

He knew it could be gotten worse if he kept appearing in front of you. 

"I owed your life and I'm sorry for causing you a lot of trouble" he admitted his fault.

He surrendered. For the sake of your peace. For your life.

Before Jungkook could step inside the vehicle, you were ready to catch his attention and prevented him to get in.

It hurts you to see him accept his farewell. 

You engaged to him. He was your fiance and still, you couldn't bare to face him like this.

So you chase him.

You need him.

You want him.

He's your life.

Your half soul.

Your friend.

Your lover.

"DON'T LEAVE ME! DON'T GO AND LEAVE ME AGAIN!!"

He heard your cry. You begged him to stay.

"Wha-" he was shocked.

"HOW DARE YOU NOT TELL ME THAT YOU'RE LEAVING! I DON'T WANT YOU TO LEAVE ME, JUNGKOOK! I WANT YOU TO STAY!!"

Jungkook caught you in his arms and you immediately hugged him.

You closed your eyes as your heart started beating relentlessly.

Non-stop.

You knew that the day he came into your life, you can't escape.

As if it was meant to be faith. For the both of you.

Jungkook tried to console you by gently rubbing your back and he also started to tear up his eyes.

He felt he almost lost you. 

He is your lover. 

It was his fault you went into this horrific situation.

"Hey, darling. I'm taking down on Irene. I'm here" he spoke softly into your ears.

"I realized now that my life is incomplete without you. I thought after you leave me my life can be at peace. But then all of these problems happened because of a mistake. It's not our problem. It's somebody else that puts the problem into our life" he explained to you.

You began to turn your gaze at him and displayed a questioning look.

You broke the hug and wiped your tears.

You don't understand his words. What was he trying to say?

"My gangs investigated that the briefcase originally belonged to the Lee clans. Somehow, somebody hacked the system and transferred the case into my company's data. Maybe that was the reason why your agency suspected me in the first place" he chuckled dryly and scoffed in annoyance.

"We were wrong all along"

The police officer at the back paid attention attentively to Jungkook as he continue his conversation with you.

Then, one of them suddenly walked to Jungkook and took the keys out. You got freaked out but it was the police officer who opened the handcuff to set him free. 

Jungkook goes ahead and bows to the officer for giving cooperation to him in acting.

You whined at him and hit his arms hard. 

He got you. 

He pranked you. 

So all this time you witnessed was a stage play.

He tested your feelings and whether you truly care about him.

After that, you lifted your chin and fixed your posture.

"And about Irene?" you asked him.

He pointed his hands to the right. You looked at it and saw Irene already brought to the police station to lock her up.

"She secretly betrayed my gang and I noticed she obsessed with me. She already knew we were both engaged and still have the nerve to chase me"

He shook his head. 

Irene did dirty to his gang and now got the price she deserved.

"At least you put her into the perfect place where she can reflect herself"

You smiled cheekily and he returned the same to you.

"Are we okay now?"

He nodded.

"Yeah. We're okay. Let's take a vacation, shall we?" 

Your mission has finally made it to the end. You can release all the heavy tension off your shoulders.

Jungkook sneakily snaked his arms around your waist and pulled you into his embrace. He planted his head on your neck and snuggled it cosily. 

You laughed at his childish behaviour and rested your hands on his.

The briefcase mission goes to the authority as they will take over it. You don't know how Jungkook managed it all on his own but you admired his effort.

You wanted to see his face so you turned your neck to the right side and not knowing his action, he pecked your cheeks. It erupted your heart that went beating faster. 

Then, you hit his arms as you suddenly became shy.

"Awww!!! Does my darling become shy? That's new" he grinned triumphantly as he enjoyed teasing you. 

But you disliked it. Your face went into a sour expression and deep inside your heart, you sulked.

"I don't want to be friends with you! We're over!!" you escaped from his warmth and ran away in 5 meters.

Jungkook went ahead to chase you and caught your hands. He goes in front of you and tried to console your fuming anger.

" I'm gonna buy you something sweet to eat. Maybe another chocolate cake will do" 

The both of you stroll along the path as the argument and the console treatment continued.
