AFTER school, the class divided into groups to meet up with people and ask around. However, there weren't that many helping to search for an eyewitness. Hirata and Karuizawa led the Duality Team, while Kushida led the Friendship Team, yes, weird names. They intended to search the campus themselves. Even so, it'd be difficult to get results in such a short span of time.

There were around 400 students in this school. Even if you left out everyone from class 1-D, it wouldn't make a big difference. Finding everyone would still be difficult even if you included break times, lunch, after class, and early morning. However of course...

"All right, I'm going to the dorms."

"Are you really heading back? Horikita-san?"

Horikita nodded without hesitation, and promptly left the classroom, just as one would expect. She didn't quail under everyone's gazes, which all expressed variations on "You're leaving?" She would probably grow up to be a fierce woman, the type that leaves social outings without reading the room and concludes meetings exactly on time. I even wonder if she's the type of person so say, "time's up" when someone says, "It'll take a second".

If Horikita's tactic was to stride out of the classroom with confidence, mine was the opposite. I tried to slip into the shadows. In other words, I was out! ...Hey hey! Why is Ayanokouji doing the same. Don't copy me.!

"Ayanokouji-kun, Shinjiro-kun."

I had tried to exit stealthily through the classroom. I'd tried to be swift as a possible but had been discovered. Kushida stopped me and Ayanokouji in my tracks, a slight hint of unease in her voice. If it wasn't for creature who's stealing oxygen from me, I wouldn't gone out.

"What? Do you need something?" I asked.

'I'm not sorry, Kushida. I will protect and preserve myself first and I will be going to the dorms.'

"You will two...help us out, won't you?" she asked.

"Of course we are." Ayanokouji said.

Who the fuck says you're talking for me?

"Gee~ Thanks!"

"Sorry, I'm out." I stood up.

"W-Wait? Why?" Kushida had teary eyes. Calm down, I know your forcing your own eyes.

"Ayanokouji-kun is more than enough for the job." I said. "Besides, I have plans so I gotta hit the dip. Although, I would want to speak with you privately." I went to her and I whispered in her ear.

"When you said, 'I hate you' to Horikita, did you really mean it?"

Kushida looked at me, surprised but quickly put on an awkward smile.

"A-ah, that... um... I mean I hated her way of doing things. It's sad. I messed up my words badly, please forgive me." She whispered. "Sometimes even a person like me can get annoyed."

Yes, I certainly know that.

"Don't worry, I forgive you. Besides, you won't ever do something as wrong as that anyways, so I thought I must've misheard it wrong. Or perhaps having a bad day, since I'm sure you didn't mean it."

Kushida smiled a bright beam at me. Good, now that Kushida doesn't think of me as a threat or anything, it's all out of the way, hopefully.

"So?"

Ayanokouji said a word. Well obviously he did... but... ah forget it.

"I was just curious about something regarding her and Horikita."

"Ah..." he seemed to get the gist.

"Well, I'm going. See ya and good luck."

I waved at them as I went ahead to a certain group of individ-

"Ah! Look. It's Jiro-kun."

"You're my least favorite."

"Ah..."

Rino frowned at my words. Well... I feel bad for the girl.
