The two of you made your way back to the Jade chamber. You turned around seeing that Fenhua was not walking close to you. "Did I do something?" You ask.

"You still smell bad." he said.

You stop walking, "Well you're taking forever," you say as you grab Fenhua's hand and run with him to the entrance.

You looked back to see Fenhua's reaction to the two of you speeding down. He looked like he was have a heart attack. So you slowed to a walk. "Too much exercise for you?"

He sucked in a breath, "What? No!" Then before he could say anything more, he averted his eyes to something clearly taller from behind you.

"What?" You asked as you turned around.

"What." The merchant asked.

Chills ran down your spine. A flash of him choking you against the wall rang through your mind. Unintentionally, you felt yourself squeeze Fenhua's hand you were holding. You swallowed your fears the best you could, "Why have you not left yet?"

He spit on the floor, getting some saliva onto my shoes. "Because I ain't done with some business." Then he eyed you up and down.

"There is nothing left to discus-" You said, your voice beginning to shake. Stop.

The merchant stepped closer, as if to test your strength. You stood your ground even more, staring at him dead in the eye.

For a moment you felt your body grow cold starting with your head, then spreading throughout your entire body. The hairs on your arms stood up. The cold sensation continued. Until it reached your hand.

You had only the noticed Fenhua, hand clasped over yours still. Before you could think, you felt him pull you back and away from the merchant. Everything felt as time stopped and time slowed as he led you behind him.

"Fenhua? What are-" you whispered behind him.

He swatted your hand away and turned his attention to the man. You watched as Fenhua stood in front of you. Standing up for you.

Why?

"Do you have nothing better to do with your miserable life?" Fenhua asked. "Because that's what it seems like. Pathetic really. Is it because no one else will take your hand in marriage? So you cling to the one offer that was guaranteed and arranged? So it won't have a choice to run away from that garbage slopp form that you call a face? " He shook his head as he sized up the merchant, "Honestly you should stop wasting your time, can't you see no one wants you here anymore? You should be used to this by now, but if I MUST sat it for your incompetent and small mind once more-"

Suddenly the merchant slammed Fenhua against the wall, practically swinging him in mid-air. The wind was knocked out of him as he hit it.

"Fenhua!" You yelled, beginning to run over to him.

The merchant punched you in the stomach, causing you to fall back against the floor. You gasped for air, but seemed to forget how to breath due to the force. "Ningguang..." you said, eyes watering with tears.

Scaramouche's POV:

What is wrong with me. First I defend her and this is what I am answered with.

Someone stronger? Bigger?

I watched as he laughed and walked over to the woman, who was now on her side and seemed to be crying.

"Now your puny arse can watch as I show you what really happens when you mess with me." The man said as he grabbed her ankle.

"No.." she breathed, obviously struggling to say anything.

I strained my body which was aching all over, and did my best to sit up. I watched as the man pulled the woman to lay under him.

I wasn't sure what I was feeling. Some sort of rage. But my body took over.

I brought my arm in front of me, hand facing the merchant as I felt my chest burn. I raised my hand and felt a rush of force begin to grow on my palm.

I looked up and saw flashes of wind being formed in my hand. I don't know how. Or why. Or if I ever had this power before, but I loved the feeling.

The merchant stared at me and my hand, confused.

All I did was smile as I motioned my hand and the wind to him in a brutal and powerful force.

Your POV:

You opened my eyes, relieved to see Fenhua hovering over you. "Fen-"

"Stop." He said, looking down at your stomach, "You're injured."

"You too-" You tried to say.

He didn't say anything, just helped you to your feet. Then lowered himself to a crouch, motioning you to get on his back.

You hesitated, but decided it was best not to argue. "I might be a little-"

"Heavy? Don't worry about it." He says as you wrap your legs around him.

It would be nice if he could say that I wasn't heavy or that I don't look heavy.

I heard Fenhua make a heaving as he lifted me up on his back. "Fenhua maybe you shouldn't hold me- you were just beaten" You squirmed in his grasp.

He bounced you up on his back to situate you in your original position. "Shut up."

You felt yourself smiling. Then stopped yourself.
