PROLOGUE

10 YEARS AGO

"Wystan!"

"Hurry up!"

Palladium chased his friend across the fields of the Elven Kingdom.

"Wystan! I can't run for much longer.."

Wystan slowed down a bit and let the younger catch up to him.

"Ah- What was it that.. you wanted to show me, anyways..?" Palladium asked, hunching over and placing his hands on his knees to catch his breath.

The older put a finger up to his lips. "It's a secret. Now, cmon! Let's keep going."

Palladium let out a groan but kept running. He did want to know what his friend had in store for him.

After a few more minutes of running the two friends come across a cave.

"Is- Is the surprise in there?" Palladium asks timidly, pointing a finger at the large opening.

Wystan nodded his head. "Yeah, just follow me so you won't get lost."

"I don't know about this.. Isn't this area off limits to younger elves?" He worried about getting in trouble or even hurt.

Wystan lightly hit his friend on the back. "Oh cmon, we're not that far off. Plus, what does this cave contain that could be so dangerous anyways?"

The brunette thought for a moment before agreeing to go into the cave.

"I swear, if anything happens, I'm blaming you!" Palladium squeezed his torso nervously.

"Yeah, whatever. Just follow me so I can finally show you the surprise I've hidden away for so long."

They entered the cave, but they soon lost their source of light.

"Would you mind using your magic as a light source?"

Palladium sighed, but nodded his head.

He used a light spell to illuminate their vision.

"That's better."

"So uh, would you mind telling me where this 'surprise' is?" He was starting to get irritated by this 'surprise.'

Wystan laughed nervously and looked around at the many entrances before them. "If I remember correctly, it should be this one." He points to one of the openings.

"I seriously hope you're right about this."

The two walked through the opening and found themselves in a corridor covered in crystals.

"Woah.. So pretty.." Palladium wondered at the many crystals embellishing the rocky walls. He stopped his spell due to the crystals producing their own light.

"I knew you would like it," Wystan smiled confidently. "But, this is not the surprise. We need to keep walking."

After passing the walls of crystal, they end up in an area full of flowers and small trees. Even crystals lined the cave walls.
