Persona, being dead, meant they didn't return back.
This gained the worry of Teyz, who couldn't help but feel something, off.
Like a gut feeling.
Maybe she was overreacting, maybe.
Hopefully, is all she can hope for.
Back with Wilbur, who seems to be in a state of silence with Donnie on the roof of a building, sitting on the edge and looking down. The night sky seems to welcome them, with stars and a new moon.
“So, anything else you want to ask me?” Wilbur asked, breaking the silence. “Do, do you like April?” Donnie asked, hesitant at his own question. Wilbur looks at him, confused.
“I don't like her, I hardly know her. What, how old she is? 16?” Wilbur said. Donnie gave a nod. “I'm 23, I don't look for anyone younger then 20, so you can connect the lines ” Wilbur said, giving a chuckle. “I just, see how she's so swoon by you and I couldn't help but to feel hurt” Donnie says.
“I'm used to it, I've gotten people swoon over me when I came from, I even had an admirador. Sally. She looked like April, but she was part siren and her hair was longer, and curly. She was lovely, and we would always exchange letters to one another, where she mentioned she had a son named Floris” Wilbur says, his eyes sparkling with good memories of his admirador, named Sally. He seemed so, passionate to talk about his love for Sally, and Donnie seems to listen in, imagining it was himself and April instead. “You had everything huh” Donnie said. Wilbur looks at him, nodding.
“You can say that. I had my nation, my people, the girl I loved so very much, my brother. Everything.” He says, a hint of sadness could be heard in his tone. “What was Tommy like?” Donnie asked.
“Tommy, he was bright and bubbly, like the sun on a field of flowers. He had blonde hair and soft white wings. He couldn't fly yet, but his wings were growing. He was the opposite of me, but he supported me and was there for me regardless of anything. He was my world, the one person I would go to hell and back to make sure he's alright ” Wilbur says. “You are, going to and from for him right now, so I guess that's more literal then metaphorical” Donnie mentions. Wilbur chuckled lightly. “I guess so, I just want my own life back” Wilbur said.
“How do you plan to do that?” Donnie asked.
“Well, by fighting the gods themselves. I'll die trying, but it'll be worth it in the end” Wilbur says. “What about Suto and her journal” Donnie asked, seeming confused. “I don't really know, but I can see now that even gods have limits” Wilbur says, hinting at what happened earlier. It felt unreal, of how he ripped a watcher's wings off, both, and killed them.
“What if they don't let you win ” Donnie asked. Silence fills the atmosphere.
“Well, I'm not a quitter, I'll keep going until they kill me and never bring me back, I hope to see Tommy in the afterlife if I do die” Wilbur says. Donnie's eyes shot open, as Wilbur seemed so calm and sure of this plan, that it was scary.
It was, a life of death situation, and Wilbur seemed so welcoming of death, that it was almost crazy.
Why was he so, welcoming of death.
Well, that didn't matter. Neither were paying attention to their surroundings, as whirling noises could be heard.
And something shooting, Both glace back and Wilbur gets hit with a beam, pushing him off the building.
“WILBUR!”
cried Donnie, looking down to see Wilbur fall to his death. You could almost see a glimpse of, sorrow in Wilbur's eyes, before he was welcoming the ground with him. He hits the ground, bleeding out from the shot wound and the front of his face.
He landed face first, and Donnie had to watch.
Was it fate? Was it a coincidence?
He'll never know.
And Wilbur was back in the space. But, he didn't see Persona.
Only Teyz and Suto.
“Where is Persona?” Suto asked. Wilbur stayed silent. “Soot, where the hell is Persona?” Teyz asked. Think, think.
“They just left me when, I was outside ” Wilbur said. “Sure, whatever. They'll be be back, I'll have a word with them” Suto says, sighing. She sounded annoyed.
“When will this stop” Wilbur asked. Suto looked up from her journal, snickering. “You'll be free, once we kill you personally ” she responds in a cold tone, despite her smile. She was ruthless, brutal. And Wilbur was picking up on it. She doesn't care how Wilbur dies, all she cares is that he dies. In any way. To continue the story.
Because that's all she cares for. She doesn't care about Wilbur and his complaining, she doesn't care for Persona or Teyz. She just cares about herself.
Selfish god.
Only wanting the story for herself.
She's just like the Tyrant of Esempi, Jschlatt, only wanting power and corruption.
How ironic.
