- He was surprised the first time you pulled a Nurse Joy on his Pokémon
- And the fact that you could understand what the Pokémon were saying like he could? Simply amazing!
- He never has to worry about you thinking he was odd
- Because both of you can have long meaningful conversations with your Pokémon
- Which believe me, it comes in handy when your Pokémon get into arguments
- With you acting as mediator, things seem to go back to normal almost immediately
- He does help teach you more about healing Pokémon though
- He's had years of experience after all
- Finding that you work to help sick and abused Pokémon with Nurse Joy in your free time made him very prideful to be with you
- "I find your dedication to Pokémon to be astounding Y/N."
"Well N, they gave us so much, what says I can't help pay them back?"
"I wish everyone had that state of mind."
"I do too, as well as the Pokémon."
- Your dedication only makes him fall further head over heels for you
- He does realize that things Pokémon tell you take a toll on you sometimes
- You don't like talking or thinking about many of the abused Pokémon's horror stories
- He finds you curled up in a ball crying some days because of this
- He understands your pain very well
- Even though he's still not all that good with helping people, he tries his best to calm you down
- "Hey? Are you ok?"
"NO."
"What happened?"
"I can now fully understand your prior goals to separate Pokémon from humans."
"Oh dear. What'd they tell you this time?"
- There are very few times you'll actually tell him, people can just be cruel
- The sheer amount of Pokémon you've healed is astounding, but those Pokémon just go straight to N after a few of your breakdowns
- He just wants to understand what they told you
- Though he honestly wished he didn't afterwards
- "Hey Y/N?"
"Mm?"
"I understand why you're upset now."
"How are you still so calm about it? It breaks my hearts what they go through."
"I grew up around abused Pokémon. That's why my old dream was to separate our worlds."
"N..."
"It's ok, we'll get through it together ok? I'm following you to work from now on."
