Lost Without You

It was Tara's first day at college. She was a naturally  quiet and introverted person. Nevertheless, she was a bit excited about starting college and meeting new people. "Tara, Would you get your ass here and leave for school now?" Mrs Jay yelled from the kitchen. Staring at herself in the mirror for the hundredth time, she exhaled deeply. She had on a white long-
sleeved crop top, a blue cargo pants and her favorite white Nike Air Force 1. Her long black curly hair was neatly packed into two buns. She wore her favorite earrings and necklaces which she had gotten from her grandmother for her sixteenth birthday last year. She placed her bag on the white stool in-front of her already neatly laid bed and packed a book, pens, highlighters and her MacBook Pro 14 into her bag.
She put on her cute pink glasses and grabbed her black winter jacket from the hanger. Putting off the light bulb, she stepped out of her room.
" Morning Jess", she hugged her mom from behind planting a kiss on her cheek.
" You really are so spoilt, first you call her by her name then still never in full" , her elder brother Taylor smirked at her.
" You are quite lucky it is my first day in college, I would just ignore you dude" She stood right in front of him pointing her index finger at him
"Yeah lucky day for you as well or that finger be bent by now crazy pants"
" You always have different annoying names everyday, you wouldn't even say nice things even when it is my first day at college today I bet you even forgot it, ugh I hate you" Tara said between tears.
"Tara you shouldn't say that to your elder brother", Jessica said folding her hands between both of them.
"But Jess, Taylor always calls me names and always the worst of them and I don't like them" Tara replied wiping off her already fallen tear.
"Taylor....", Jessica smirked at him before he finally moved closer to her.
"Hey princess, you know I never mean those names I say right? You are the cutest gummy bear ever and I love you and mom so much that I would never forget an important day in your life" Taylor squeezed her into a hug planting a kiss in between her buns.
Taylor let her sob a little more in the hug before finally wiping her face and taking her bag into the car. Tara had her breakfast hugged her mom and had her way out of the house.
"Here you go my little cutie" Taylor said as he opened and held the front door for her to get in. Tara stared innocently looking at him and the door respectively.
"Would you please hurry up, my baby doll shouldn't be late for the first day in college"Taylor folded his arms looking a little bit angry and winking at her
"Yes sir", Tara hugged him and got in the car.
