DROWNING, it was as if she were drowning.

As a child the woods had been Aaliyah and Adrianna's favourite place to play, for some strange reason the breeze that emanated from the forest of green leaves comforted the young girls. The soothing sound of twigs and stones crunching beneath their feet, the dirt a soft pad to run around on. Their parents were well off, a high income resulted in a large house and in turn a large back garden that fed straight into the woods, simply a two second crawl under a gap in their white picket fence. One that was now stained in red.

The day had been warm, odd for the small town of Forks. The sun had shone brightly in the ocean blue sky and people would have to cover their eyes when they stepped outside, no one owned sunglasses in Forks. For the first time in her life, a light red burn had laid itself across the uncovered arms and legs of Aaliyah Rupa's tanned skin.

She had spent the entirety of her day running around outside alongside her sister. Her mother had called her in, Adrianna being the more goody of the two had already stood in the kitchen as their mother smeared sunscreen on her. Aaliyah however had simply ran into the garden allowing the rays of sunshine to crinkle her skin, a yell from her mother, a threat of not being able to play with her sister was enough for her to stomp into the kitchen being painted with a layer of protection.

Aaliyah hadn't waited around for long after that, her tiny legs pulling her back, drawn to that of her twin. A twin that she would see for the last time in a mere few seconds.
