After the night Brett left Reagan was fired from cognito. She constantly missed work and wasn't getting anything done. After that, she moved out of DC and lived alone in an apartment. It's been about 6 years since she moved out of DC. She doesn't remember Brett or any of her old friends now. She works as a bartender at a bar near her apartment.
Reagan's POV
I wake up to my alarm clock beeping and I turn it off and sit up in my bed. I groan as I wipe my eyes and get out of bed the same as every morning. I walk into the bathroom and get dressed into my work uniform and pull my hair back into a loose ponytail. I finish getting ready and I walk out of my apartment and into the parking lot to get in my car. I get to the bar and go inside as I check the time. I still have 30 minutes before my shift starts so I pull out a pack of cigarettes and head outside to the back of the bar as I usually do every morning.Time skip
Third-person pov:
Reagan's day had been average so far. Making drinks for people, some people got drunk and started fights which resulted in them being kicked out, and some people tried to flirt with her while she made drinks which caused her to threaten to throw it at them until they stopped. She still had an hour and a half left in her shift but by now the bar was pretty empty. A guy walks in and she prepares herself for more socializing. The guy sits down and just looks at Reagan for a moment. "Um.." she mumbles looking at the man in front of her. "Oh sorry! I was just wondering.. have I seen you somewhere before? You look familiar." He asks with a smile. "Fuck no." Reagan responds with her usual attitude. "Seems like someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed!" The man laughs as Reagan glares at him.
"You remind me of someone but I can't remember who! You guys give off the same vibe." He chuckles and introduces himself. "I'm Brett!" He says as he smiles brightly at Reagan who just continued to glare at him. "ARE YOU GOING TO ORDER OR WHAT?" Reagan yells at Brett causing him to flinch. "Oh yeah! I forgot." He smiles. "Whatever dumbass." Reagan sighs and walks away letting another bartender handle it.
"Hey, why was that other bartender so feisty?" He asked as a man came over to get his order. "Oh, She's been like that ever since she started here. But she's a drug addict so that probably explains it." The man responds while pouring beer into a cup.
"I'm surprised you even survived five seconds around her." The bartender laughs. "Once she sent a customer to the hospital because they were taking too long to order." Brett laughs and sips his drink."Reminds me of someone I knew a few years back. I don't remember her that well but when we had to practice a hug she punched me right in the face!" He laughs as he responds. Reagan overheard part of the conversation and gets mad. "FUCK OFF JERRY!" She yells at the other bartender resulting in him backing up and saying "spare me." Brett stares at Reagan blankly "What the hell are you staring at me for?" She snaps at Brett. "Because you're pretty." He says with a smile. "Get out." Reagan says sternly and throws him out of the bar.
The next morning
Brett was the first one at the bar the next day. He wanted to be there early just so he could see Reagan. He walks in and looks around not seeing Reagan anywhere. He walks up to one of the other employees. "Hey, do you know where that woman is who wants to beat the shit out of everyone?" He asks and the employee immediately knew who he was talking about."She's out back. Probably on her fifth pack of cigarettes this morning." They respond pointing to the back door. "Okay, thanks!" He responds as he walks outside. He spots Reagan on the concrete drinking and smoking so he walks up to her. "Hey remember me? From last night?" He cheered. Reagan looks him up and down and responds. "Oh yeah, the guy who was annoying as shit so I kicked him out." She says rolling her eyes.
"Yep, that's me!" Brett responded happily. He takes a moment to admire Reagan and then a question came into his mind. "Why don't you ever smile?" He asked curiously. "What's the point? There's nothing in my life to smile about." She replies as she crosses her arms. "I'm sure I can fix that!" Brett said as he tried to make her smile by using his hands to try and crease the corners of her mouth into a smile, only to result in her drop-kicking him to the ground.
