When Wooyoung first introduced San to Hongjoong just outside a run down movie theater, he didn't miss the way the man's eyes widened and lips parted in disbelief once he came face to face with the grinning dark haired boy, cheeks rushing into a friendly pink as he shook San's hand and bowed eagerly.

"It's nice to meet you San." Hongjoong beamed, and Wooyoung couldn't help his comical snort at the way his best friend seemed to struggle for a response around the sudden lump in his throat.

"Careful, San. You have a boyfriend, remember?" Wooyoung teased lowly, lifting a knowing eyebrow that San glared at pointedly, rolling his eyes.

There was a strange beat of silence as they walked inside, San growing unnaturally quiet at the mention of his significant other.

Wooyoung didn't know a lot about San's partner, something he did his best not to be hurt by when he'd stay up late to witness San shuffle through the door of their apartment after spending the whole night with him.

San chose not to tell him much and Wooyoung wasn't one to press.

However, Wooyoung couldn't help but notice the way his roommates kind eyes darkened at the reminder of his boyfriend.

Wooyoung mistakenly ignored it.

"You didn't tell me he was 'drop to my knees, no questions asked' handsome, Wooyoung. I just humiliated myself." San hissed against his ear while Hongjoong was heading forward into the theater to drown his popcorn in butter, occupied with stashing napkins in his pockets and puffing out his cheeks with intense focus as he tried to decide between licorice or sour skittles.

"Fuck, I think I got lost in his eyes for a second there-"

"That happens." Wooyoung grinned, and San pounced on him like a mood-shifting cat, clinging to his side and scratching at his ears in retaliation as Wooyoung laughed breathlessly and struggled to pull them along to where Hongjoong was watching them, beautifully amused as his eyes crinkled and lips thinned around a wide smile.

San blushed when he noticed Hongjoong watching them and pulled away with a shy giggle before hurrying towards the door of their theater room, not comfortable or confident enough to truly be himself around Hongjoong just yet.

It was easy to forget, but San was unbelievably shy when meeting new people.

He was never any good at making small talk, but he always seemed to fall for people effortlessly, noticing the smallest things and deciding rather quickly whether he wanted to be friends or not.

Having such a vigorous intuition sometimes made it even harder for him to open up, no matter how much he wanted to.

But what Wooyoung realized fairly quickly as they found their seats and settled into the darkness of the room was that with Hongjoong it was different.
