What could this creature be? Amber had never seen anything like it before. She scooted back a little bit as her breathing quickened. Instead of saying anything, Amber tapped on Tanners shoulder, waking him up. He sat up as he slowly opened his eyes.
'What-' before he could finish, Amber covered his mouth and put her pointer finger up to her mouth to quiet him. She then pointed to the window where the creature was.
He widened his eyes at the creature then turned to Amber. She looked around, thinking. She didn't want to say anything just in case it would do something dangerous, if it noticed them.
The creature kept scratching the windows as it looked for a way in. Finally, it left.
'What was going on? What was that thing? Was it danger-' Amber put her hand over his mouth again and chuckled.
'Too many questions. I have no idea what that thing is and it could possibly be dangerous,' She uncovered his mouth.
He nodded.
'Let's just ignore it and sleep. It probably won't come back.' She laid back down again.
He went to sleep as well. Amber sat in silence for a while before finally falling sleep.

Amber shot open her eyes, to see people screaming and crying around something. She jumped up and walked over to where they were crowded. A dead body. Someone died last night. A woman was over the dead body, weeping. It seemed to be a little boy.
'What happened?' Amber ask the woman.
'My son... I- I don't know what happened... I woke up to him dead. N- No blood, no wounds, he... he was just laying here.' She said, still in tears.
The creature. It must have killed him.
Amber walked back over to Tanner and Andi.
'What happen-' Tanner started.
'The creature. It killed him. No wounds, no blood. Who else would have killed him?' She asked.
Tanner shrugged. 'I don't know. I'd have to agree with you. I'll bet it was the creature.' He said, putting his hand to his chin, thinking. Amber said nothing. She was in deep thought, not even realizing everyone had gone silent. Andi broke the silence.
'Should we ask the captain?'
Tanner shook his head. 'No use.'
Amber look back to the boy. 'What should we do about him?'
Tanner looked at him and shrugged. 'Find out how he died.'
Amber looked at him and furrowed her eyebrows. 'Seriously? You act as if it isn't a problem.'
He shook his head (Which annoyed Amber) and walked toward the boy. It took them a few hours to find out how he died, but it was all coming together.
'He had some sort of needle with a deadly serum that got put into his skin, which obviously killed him. Took over his DNA,' Tanner said looking at the boys arm very closely, 'Amber? Do you have a knife or something sharp?' He asked.
Amber nodded as she pulled out jackknife she still had, sitting in her pocket. He took it and started to cut some of his skin on his arm open. Nasty, oozy, green liquid started coming out of his arm.
Amber shivered at the sight.
'What is that?' Andi asked.
'That my friend... is his blood.' Answered Tanner.
'But why is it al-'
'Did you not hear me before, Andi? Remember when I said that the creature had a needle with serum which took over his DNA?'
Andi said nothing and nodded at Tanner, who was frustrated.
'Thank you.' He said with a sigh.
'What do we do with him?' Amber asked in curiosity.
'Get him out of here. We don't want a dead body in here.'
'Do you think they'll let us out of thi-'
Just then, the elevator opened and Captain John Philips Entered the room, interrupting Andi.
'Anyone is welcome to leave if they please.' The Captain announced. Once he said those words, people jumped and cheered as if they had just won a million dollars. People ran out of the building, leaving about fifty more people, who were still sick or hurt.
The three of them ended up packing their bags and leaving. They didn't end up dealing with the dead boy. His mom was gone anyway.
Once they stepped out of that building, it was like paradise! Fresh air was the first thing Amber needed. Same to both Andi and Tanner. Just then, Amber thought about home and how she could never return.
Amber looked at Tanner with concern.
'Where do we live?' She asked.
'We'll figure something out. I'm sure it won't be that bad. I lived in an orphanage, what could be worse than that? Being alone and free is like paradise.' He said with a huge smile.
Amber had to smile. He didn't know what it was like to have a home like her. Amber was sure he felt as happy as ever, both of them.
Amber couldn't really think of any of her relatives. Where is Jackson City, exactly? The name sounded familiar to Amber, but she still couldn't remember. New York? Virginia? Florida? Georgia? Maybe Amber could find someone who knew more specifically where they were. While they walked down the streets, Amber figured they would stop by a little store to find out.
She walked in and went strait to the cash register. 'Do you know where we are? I understand that we're in the Jackson City but more specifically, are we in New York?' She asked the man at the register.
The man looked at her with a confused look on his face. 'No, young miss. We are far from New York. Jackson City is in Mississippi.'
'Oh, okay. Thank you, sir.' Amber turned back around and started to walk out the door.
Well, Amber doesn't know anyone who lives in Mississippi. I guess we'll just have to make a home, Amber thought. It's hard to make a home in a city though.
Amber started to walk down the streets with Tanner and Andi at her heals.
'Where are we going exactly? You seem to know, because your not stopping.' Tanner asked.
'We're leaving the city. I'd rather not try to build some sort of home here.' She answered.
He nodded as they kept moving.
Eventually they came to the bridge that takes them out of the city. The Woodrow Wilson Bridge. Very long walk, but worth it.
It took them an hour or two to get across, but again, it was worth it. They were now on the highway. I looked to my left and right. There was a smaller town, known as Alexandra on the left and on the right... A forest. We could live there. It's near town if we needed something it's right outside the woods. Handy.
'We'll live down there.' Amber said pointing down to the woods, from the highway.
'Looks good to me.' Tanner complemented.
They walked through the woods to find a place quiet enough to the point where they couldn't hear the cars on the highway.
Amber finally halted as she listened for any cars. None. Quiet and peaceful. Perfect.
They set their things down and started building shelter.
'Andi, can you start gathering firewood while we build our shelter?' Amber asked.
He nodded and went to get wood.
A few minutes passed and their little shelters were a success. They'd put a couple thick sticks through fork shaped trees, and put branches with leaves over them. They had made two, one for Amber, and one for Tanner and Andi. They weren't the biggest things, but they'll do for now.
'TANNER! AMBER!! COME HERE! COME HERE! COME HERE!' Andi yelled, running toward them.
Both Tanner and Amber quickly looked in his direction.
'What is it? What's wrong?' Tanner asked.
'Nothing's wrong. Come look what I found!'
They ran through the trees, staying at Andi's heals. They stopped as they bugged our eyes at the sight they saw.
'No way!' Amber exclaimed.
'its a miracle!' Tanner added.
