Everything is in pure chaos. Sarah had tears streaming down her cheeks, Peterkin was dying as we spoke, Rafe and Ward had pure evil eyes, and J looked shocked. I stayed where I was. I couldn't blow my cover. At least, not yet. I could become an accomplice or be blamed for the murder. I see J sprinting away and Rafe holding the gun back at him. John B barely misses the bullet, but he's running in my general direction. I walked deeper back so that no one could see me. When he got closer to me, I whispered, "John!"

He stops for a second, "Kas?"

"Yeah, yeah, keep running," I say, starting to run so I would keep up with him.

"What are you still doing here?" J asks, out of breath, "I thought you would have run with everyone else."

"I couldn't. I was too scared that I could lose you," I say, my voice slightly breaking. We were far enough away now to stop and take a quick break.

"Hey, hey, Kas," he says, turning towards me, "look at me." I lift my head up from the ground and look at him. "I'm here. I'm okay. Everything will be okay. I'm not hurt."

"But, you could have been," I say, a tear slipping down my cheek.

"But I'm not." He takes his hand and wipes away a tear. He then leans in and gives me a kiss. "I'm right here, kissing you. I'm not going anywhere." I nod.

"We gotta keep moving," I say quietly. John nods. We continue to run through the forest. John B was ahead of me by a little bit since he had longer legs. We were about to cross the road when a car hit J. I screamed. He gets up, seeming to be okay, but leaves a bloody handprint behind on the windshield. J looks like a deer in headlights but shakes it off and continues running up the road. I continue to follow him.

"Hey, man, you're bleeding!" the man driving the car gets out, "you need some help?" We continued running. There was no one to trust and no time to stop. We ran to an empty warehouse where we knew the others would be.

"Dude! Dude, you good?" Pope asks, noticing us.

"Oh, my God! John B!" Kie exclaims.

"Is this yours?" JJ asks, noticing the blood.

"Whose blood is that?" Kie asks, looking between the two of us. We hear police sirens.

"Hey, you okay, man?" Pope asks again.

"John B, are you okay?" Kie echoes because he's not saying anything. We hear police sirens and see a police car not too far. They all look at me, but I give the same facial expression.

"Shit," Pope whispers. We all ducked down.

Later that night, we're all in the van. I was driving us to the police station. I was mostly quiet after everything that happened today.

"John B, what are we doing at the police station?" JJ asks him. He looks around nervously.

"Somebody's gotta tell them what happened," John mutters. Pope starts to cough after he intakes a cigarette.

"Easy there, chief," JJ says. "All right. I'm just gonna be real with you right now. You might end up in the lion's den, but you don't go there on purpose. It's fundamental. Just like my old man always told me, you should never ever trust cops, no matter what the circumstance is."

"Your old man's an abusive liar," Kie spits out.

"I agree with JJ," Pope says with a small smile, "fuck the police."
