I Lied - Kiri x Reader

Part 3: the tensity

I couldn't help but gaze into space. That boy's face seems so familiar, and it's not just that. The gestures are oddly familiar too. I hope I'm not going insane, I don't have time to do so since the ash people need to be taken care of. "Can I help you?" As soon as I hear that voice, I start cold sweating like crazy and I don't know why. It's like I almost had a fever of some sort. My vision shifts down as I hear a boy-ish voice from my downward angle. I can barely see his face from that angle so I crouch down to his height to see his mask better and read his emotion. "Uh yes, Im just observing everything around us. It's something I'm not used to but yet it's so beautiful."

My warm tone of voice was soothing to listen to, given everyone's expression. "Do you not have that sort of environment back home?" Spider slightly cocks his head sideways in curiosity and stares at me blankly . I mean we're ash people so obviously we don't have plants and flowers back at MY home. "Rey is one of the ash people, what do you think human boy?" Lo'ak laughs under his breath slightly meanwhile Kiri decides to join in on the movement.

"I'm honestly surprised you know such a word as environment, spider". Kiri starts laughing with Lo'ak to the point they both got stomach cramps. I had some mixed emotions about that moment. It was pretty dumb to think about yet, at the same time I get his struggle. There were plenty of scenarios where it was difficult for me to fit in with people's high expectations. I sort of felt bad for him. It wasn't one of the nicest feelings but, I'm glad I get to communicate with The Na'vi.

Seeing Kiri so bubbly in a moment is so heartwarming. I mean, who is she? Everytime I glance at her she gets me more curious about her than ever. I get distracted from my fantasies from some pretty heavy footsteps from behind me.They almost seemed aggressive. As i looked at a water puddle that was on my right to see the water jump from the footsteps, i turn around to face whoever was coming my way. It was Jake.

"Enough chit-chat. All of you." His voice was so deep and sharp, yet he sounded like he was out of breath. Given the glare he gave to everyone he didn't seem too thrilled about us having fun. It's like having fun is forbidden for him and no one else seems to mind it BUT him. I stare back at everyone else and I see everyone's happy facial expressions fade into emptiness. God I feel bad for them. They all look down, except Tuk as she was holding back tears and asked Neytiri for a piggyback.

We carry the rest of the tour in silence, all because of Jake. Trust me, no one enjoyed it. The only person that seemed to not care as much as others is spider. As I was walking without anyone next to me, spider runs up to me and tries to grab my wrist to get my attention. It worked as I made a short eye contact with him, that's when he tried to talk to me. Honestly, it seemed like more of an interview than a conversation.

"So, what place do you like the most so far?" Spider asks smiling at my side profile. "Uh, the beds most definitely. They look so light and cozy to sleep in." I smiled at my own thought, but I avoided as much eye contact as possible. Even though I'm a guest to the sully family I still didn't want to provoke Jake if anything.

"The beds, really? I thought you would choose something more exciting like- Oh! There's still one place you haven't seen yet." Spider whispers the second part to me while his eyes widen with excitement. It was pretty weird to see smiles this happy. Wait, I mean spider. Oh no, I seriously have to watch myself while talking to him in case I call him miles on accident. I try to brush off my thought by asking what place did he have in mind.

"Well, that place isn't as visited anymore as it used to but it's where all the science stuff happens. It's the laboratory" he wiggles his fingers and says the name of the place in a high pitched voice. It sounded almost as he was mocking a girl, pretty funny. But, i cant let him Take me to the laboratory. It's too high of a risk of him discovering that I actually know him.

"I don't think it's a good idea spider. I mean, it's my first day here and it seems like it might be forbidden for us to go. I don't want to have too many worries." I tried explaining to spider calmly but I couldn't help but stutter and sweat like crazy. I think spider knows that something is up.

"Oh come on, don't be such a wuss. Unless you have something to hide, scaredy cat." After a few minutes of walking while having a one way conversation (it was just spider trying to talk to me but I ignored him) we made our way to a bond fire where everyone would usually eat. I could tell as some Na'vi already had unusual fruits on them and bit into them like crazy. Besides, we do the same thing back at my home, it's no different really.

The sully family settled down without us as by the time they could notice me and spider were gone, spider pulled me by my arm and made me follow him to the laboratory. Oh god, if this goes bad I can never show my face here again.
