A short figure with waist-length silver hair stood in front of the mirror with small unnoticeable strands of white hair that blended with her silver hair. With plump pink lips and rosy porcelain cheeks. Olivia was currently observing her features in the mirror with an indifferent expression on her face. A familiar body stature but somewhat unfamiliar to her was meeting her gaze.
This was the 20th time she had repeated her life, the only thing new was the fact that this was her first time regressing to the age of five, and the colour of her eyes had changed earlier. Usually, it was the day when O'Leah was brought home by the duke. Not that it would matter to Olivia because she expects nothing from her somewhat unending life.
Olivia's eyes twitched with an impending headache arising. Suddenly a knock sounded at the door. Though she was momentarily lost in her thoughts she knew someone was coming. When Olivia had nothing to do he learned to differentiate between footsteps. It wasn't hard to hear the footsteps since she was the only one residing on this side of the manor. So it would naturally be quiet.
“Princess Olivia, are you awake?“ A maid quietly pushed the door open and was slightly taken aback that the princess was awake but continued “Breakfast would be ready soon, your classes would start before tea time. ”The maid's name was Marian and she was one of Olivia's personal maids; six other maids followed suit behind her. After they had entered the room the two maids at the back closed the door gently. Olivia's eyes were still fixated on the mirror in front of her.
“What's on my schedule for today?” Olivia raised a question with a small milky voice devoid of any emotions. Marian, as well as the other maids, were stunned by Olivia's tone of voice. The maids thought that it was because of what the duke said yesterday at dinner. They quickly composed themselves and pushed those thoughts out of their minds, they then quickly proceeded to inform Olivia what was on her schedule.
They lined out in front of Olivia and bowed in respect no matter how close they were to their masters they had to show respect. Though it was a bit late the princess paid no heed to this small conjecture and waved her hand to signal for them to rise. Olivia went to the bathroom while the maids followed behind, Olivia closed her eyes and obediently stood aside. The maids divided their work evenly, two of which were changing the princess' clothes while the rest were busy preparing the water for a bath. Once the water was ready they proceeded to bathe her. During all this Olivia never once opened her eyes.
The bathroom was silent aside from water occasionally splashing and the sponge against the princess's body. It wasn't until in the middle of her bath the maids noticed that Olivia's fingertips were black. It wasn't that they were intentionally ignoring these signs but that they were preoccupied with bathing her to inspect her body. Princess Olivia then finally opened her eyes to observe the commotion with little interest and curiosity. Marian almost fainted at the sight Princess Olivia's left iris was red, almost the same colour as blood and the right iris had a dull shade of blue.
The other maids were pale with fright, and cold sweat dripped down their backs. They should have noticed these small changes in the princess earlier. Yet it took a while for them to notice the princess's abnormality. Dread washed over the maids as they pictured their impending doom. Olivia sneered at the maid's absurdity. Her headache was getting worse. It felt like her head and bricks were inseparable. She tried to ignore the dull pain. Gradually she didn't feel the headache anymore. She just felt like resting.
Marian snapped out of her trance and started to command the maids. This was also one of the reasons why she was chosen as Olivia's maidservant. Her quick adaptability to any situation. “Lola go get Doctor Charles” Lola wasted no effort in following Marian's order. “The rest of you will stay and assist the princess and get her to bed. I will go inform the duke of the matter,” Marian said as she dried her hands in a towel.
