Chapter 9

Nonna struggled against the binds holding her in place, seated on a chair. She wish she hadn't made the comment on how weakly one of the men could tie a knot. This one was tighter then the first.

Seeing her struggle would end up fruitless Nonna ceased her attempts of escaping and looked out of the large window at Hoja City below. Kai Adachi had taken her to the weather station on top of the mountainous area just north of Hoja City. in fact this facility was the CP for the mountain back during the yearlong match. The place where Nonna and Austin met was not even a mile away from here.

Now the city below was on fire, or at least a third of it. The terrorists hadn't made much gain since their initial surprise attack on the city. However Nonna couldn't help but be confused as to why they were even attacking the island in the first place. It wasn't so strategic a place for anything they would use or need, so why?

"Quite the view. I remember the first time I came up here all those years ago during that match." Kai Adachi said coming to stand next to Nonna. Besides him was Cody, Austin's older brother.

"It's a better view without the fire and destruction." Nonna said.

"Yes, but that's your home is it not? The place that you kids all sat comfortably for the majority of the match." Kai said.

"I do live in the city, and it infuriates me to see you destroying it." Nonna said through gritted teeth.

"Well, nothing I can do about that now." Kai said.

"Why are you doing this? Its not because of some political agenda or else you would have made a statement. It's not that you're a mercenary or someone hired you for this, so what is it?" Nonna asked.

"Simple, the Jungle Devils wanted to extend the reach of their fear. The only place they had thought to do that was Central America, but I brought the idea of Friend Island. The place where no one would actually expect a terrorist attack to commence. My genius amazes me sometimes." Kai Adachi said.

"Kai. A word please, somethings come up." The man wearing the suit mentioned. Kai sighed but began walking towards him, but not before telling Cody something.

"Watch her for me. I'll be back soon." Kai said.

Nonna watched him go and then turned her gaze to see her brother-in-law. He had taken a seat at one of the desks and put his feet up all nonchalantly. Austin was the spitting image of him. They both had the same blonde hair and same ocean blue eyes. But within this mans eyes were a lifeless void struck gaze, empty of emotion.

"If you have questions speak. Its boring just sitting here." Cody said. Nonna was taken aback by his sudden conversation, and his nonchalant tone.

"You shot your own brother. Why?" Nonna asked.

"He was in the way. Its as simple as that." Cody said. Nonna gasped at that.

"Austin is your brother! He's always spoken so highly about you, you were his hero. We named our son after you and you say you shot him because he was in the way? I don't believe you!" Nonna said. Cody looked at her placed his feet back on the ground and leaned forward.

"So you really are my brothers wife. I still cant believe the kid actually managed to pull someone like you." Cody said smiling what seemed a genuine smile. "He always said he wanted to name his son George."

"Well we didn't. Austin said you were a soldier and that you died in twenty-ten. Since your obviously not dead why didn't you go back?" She asked. Cody frowned at the question.
