Chapter 10

"Mark my words whoever brought these pitiful excuse for human beings is going to feel the front of my boot!" General Sato yelled as some of his soldiers loaded up half a dozen of the terrorists into a prison van. Johnson and his squad stood behind the General as he turned his gaze towards the south end of the city. "The bastards have barricaded themselves in the south of the city, with only a handful of groups still recking havoc in the north western part. And you said the person Lieutenant Mayes was hunting is in charge of these people?"

"Yes sir, and he has her captured. Which is why I requested you allow us to retrieve the Lieutenant sir." Johnson said, his squad behind him ready and rearing to go. Especially Austin and Mark. Sato looked at them for a moment before looking back at the city.

"My choice to bring up the reserves was premature at best. These terrorists aren't even half decently coordinated. We've successfully managed to take down or capture over half of the estimated force that landed. Sergeant, I have new orders for you." Sato said. Those words caused the squad to downcast at the thought of not being able to rescue Nonna, however the orders Sato gave relieved them of this. "There is word that a handful of civilians are still hiding out at the St. Gloriana English Cultural Academy, a number of these terrorists have been seen over there, so Sergeant you and Private Prince will go retrieve these civilians. Corporal's Manson and Mayes. I know you two are close to Lieutenant Mayes, one of you more than the other, so you two will take the rest of the squad and go to the Weather Station on top the mountain. Reports from the reserves helicopter said some of the Terrorists were up there."

Austin and Mark sighed before immediately thinking about the Weather Station. Just shy of that location was where Austin and Nonna had first met, and if Kai was up there with Nonna then Cody would be there as well. Austin frowned in disgruntlement.

"Whats the fastest way to the Station General?" Butch asked.

"Normally I'd give you a chopper, however the reserves said that the Terrorists are armed with Stinger anti-air missiles. You'll have to go in on wheels." Sato said.

"Damn." Austin said.

"Relax, we know every back end and route In those mountains, we'll be fine." Mark said. Austin shook his head at the thought of going into those mountains again. Not since his escapade with Nonna all those years ago did he ever go into those rocks, and he still wasn't very keen on it now, but to save Nonna he'd go through hell barefoot.

"General!" called out a man on a radio. "I just got an S.O.S. call from within the occupied part of the city. A group of Civilians are being hunted by the terrorists."

"How'd they get our radio channel?" Sato asked.

"Sir, they used Corporal Mayes identification number sir." The radio operator said. Austin's eyes widened immediately knowing who it was that called them. He only told a handful of individuals his number for emergencies, and those people were the Azusa, her friends and his son.

"Sir request permission to go after this group of civies sir!?" Austin requested.

"Austin, what about the Lieutenant?" Carl asked but was ignored.

"Permission granted. Take two with you the others will go and scout out the weather station and hold out until the rest of the team rendezvous with them." Sato said.

"Mark, Carl you two up to help me save my family?" Austin asked them.

"Hell yeah I'm in." Mark said.

"Yeah I got your back." Carl said now aware of who the group of civilians is.

"Corporal Cavendish and Private Robinson you two will scout out the weather station and wait for us to regroup. Understood?" Johnson ordered.

"Yes sir!" The two men said.

"Then get a move on gentlemen, you got civies and a Lieutenant to save. Move!" Sato ordered.

The group moved towards the armory and swapped out their gear for new weapons and ammo. Most of the team chose to grab an M4 while Butch decided to grab an M249 machine gun. After they were outfitted the team moved to the vehicle area and mounted into different vehicles. Johnson and Taylor took one of the Humvee's mounted with a 30. cal. Austin, Mark, and Carl took one of the Stryker APC's armed with heavy weapons and enough room to fit the civilians. Butch and Darius chose to take an L-ATV for their trek to the weather station. Once the team was ready Johnson motioned with his hand. All three teams started moving and went separate directions. Johnson and Taylor to the North-West, Austin, Mark, and Carl to the south, and Butch and Darius to the north.

Kai Adachi stood outside on the helipad on top of the weather station, the shallow snow made the summer air crisp and maybe even nice, while looking down at the city below and frowned at the sight. He was angry with how things were going but he knew that the Terrorist leaders would be fine with the exposure if anything. The promise he made to them of new weapons and even the vast amounts of money that they could pay off the investigators and international federal agents with was such a good pay out, even with the several tens of millions Kai already gave to the terrorist leadership. The only thing he wanted in return was their help attacking and killing Edward Hill and everything he built for himself since the end of that dreaded match.

Kai would do anything, kill anyone, and sacrifice whoever he needed to in order to make Edward Hill suffer. Besides, the terrorists believe that their here to take down a strong military force that has its agents in South America with the purpose of exposing and destroying their organization. Which was technically true, but Kai wouldn't tell them that they had no chance in doing that anyway. No, these terrorists were pawns, and you don't tell pawns what your real plan is. For Kai, hunting Edward Hill was the only thing needed to be done.

Footsteps from behind him made Kai turn his head to see the American that was working with him. Cody Mayes. A hardened man from a war that was pushed upon his country by Warmongering, Arms dealing profiteers. Its no wonder he wants some revenge of his own, but that is where the problem lies. Kai had lied to him as well, and it seems he finally has come to bring that lie to light.

"When you said I would get my chance of revenge I didn't think you'd start off by attacking Friend Island and getting us into a spotlight." Cody said.

"I'm not the one who sent agents to spy and find out our operations." Kai said.

"Doesn't matter. You told me your men could get me all the information I needed to put the man who set me up behind bars for good. You've been promising that for eight years now and I haven't seen any shred of what was promised." Cody said anger building In his voice.

"What if I say I don't have it?" Kai asked.

"I shot my younger brother back in Peru. Shooting you will be even easier." Cody said. Kai reached into his pocket and pulled out an envelope. He passed the envelope to Cody and watched as he ripped it open. Inside was one paper and one that paper was an address and a bank number.

"The information I promised is inside that account. You go there and get it and you'll have what I promised. But first we finish things here and now." Kai said glaring at the man.

"What of the lieutenant? What do you plan to do with her?" Cody asked.

"She's just a hostage, I don't plan to do anything so long as I get what I'm here for." Kai said.

"This Edward Hill correct?" Cody asked.

"Yup. When I get my hands on him he's going to wish he never got my sister arrested in the first place." Kai said.

Cody shrugged and walked back towards the entrance to the station. Kai watched him go out of the corner of his eye and glared. He didn't trust the man. Yes he had been good with the business part of things with dealing with the terrorists and the Suit was good with the financials but Kai couldn't trust that this American would be so focused on the task at hand, and that was why Kai was using Cody just like he was using the Terrorists. However, little did Kai know that Cody was using him to, and he didn't care about his goal one way or another.
