And so it goes.

Jennie begins working at The Snake Den, performing shows almost every single night apart from the one night of the week she's allowed herself to take off.

She is not forced to work this much, oh no.

She simply finds herself wanting to be at the club at almost all times of the day. She tries not to make the reason for her doing so too obvious, but she knows she's failing miserably when she sees the way the other dancers smirk at her whenever the Snake Charmer comes slithering out of her office and peeks down at the stage from one of the levels higher up.

Her cheeks flush a shade of red reminiscent of the velvet curtains that drape the stage behind her, betraying her emotions. The blush deepens when she catches a glimpse of the Snake Charmer's intense gaze. Jennie averts her eyes, staring pointedly at the ground to hide her shyness. She's acutely aware of the power the Snake Charmer wields ㅡ not only over the City but also over the deadly snakes that seem to move at her command. This combination of authority and allure only heightens Jennie's fascination, making it harder for her to maintain her composure in Lisa enigmatic's presence.

It's been exactly two weeks since that unforgettable night in Jennie's new dressing room. The memory lingers vividly in her mind, a mixture of excitement and tenderness. That night, Lisa, the enigmatic Snake Charmer, had surprised her with an extravagant gift; a stunning ruby bracelet. The bracelet, with its deep red gemstones catching the light, was worth more than a year's rent for Jennie, a testament to Lisa's generosity and perhaps something more.

The bracelet wasn't the only thing that made the night memorable. It was also the night Jennie experienced the intoxicating sensation of Lisa's lips dancing across her skin. Lisa's kisses were soft and sweet, leaving a trail of warmth wherever they touched. Each kiss seemed to ignite a spark within Jennie, sending shivers down her spine and making her heart race. The tenderness in Lisa's touch contrasted with the powerful, commanding presence she exuded during her performances, revealing a side of the Snake Charmer that was both surprising and deeply alluring.

In the dim light of the dressing room, surrounded by the heady scent of roses and the faint hum of the club beyond the door, Jennie felt a connection she hadn't known she craved. The feel of Lisa's lips and the weight of the ruby bracelet on her wrist were constant reminders of that night, embedding themselves in her thoughts and making her long for more moments like those.

It's been exactly two weeks of tantalizing anticipation, marked by teasing quirks of the eyebrow and suggestive smirks from the Snake Charmer. Every night, Jennie has felt the searingly intense gaze of the Snake Charmer, focused solely on her during the performances. The magnetic pull of those dark eyes, unwavering and full of unspoken promises, has left Jennie breathless and flushed, stirring emotions she can't quite put into words.

For two weeks, Jennie's dressing room has been graced with fresh bouquets of blood-red roses, their rich fragrance filling the small space. Each bouquet arrives with a pristine white card tucked amidst the velvety petals. The card always bears a few charming words looped in elegant cursive, each message carefully crafted to capture Jennie's heart. The words make Jennie blush deeply, her cheeks turning a delightful shade of pink. Sometimes, she finds herself smiling uncontrollably, almost squealing like a high school girl who's just been noticed by her long-time crush. The combination of the roses, the handwritten notes, and the Snake Charmer's intense attention has left Jennie in a constant state of exhilaration, her heart racing with anticipation each night.

It's been exactly two weeks of all of this, and yet,

And yet, there has been nothing else.

No kisses as soft as feathers on her cheeks; no gentle touches or visits to her dressing room after she's done with her performance. Nothing but earth-shatteringly intense gazes and compliments worded in such a way that makes Jennie flush before she's even heard or read the whole sentence.

To say that Jennie might be just a tad bit disappointed would be an understatement.

After that first night ㅡ that first visit ㅡ the dancer had honestly believed this might be the start of something. God knows how strongly she feels for the Snake Charmer already, despite not really even fully knowing her.

She's brought out of her thoughts when one of the dancers ㅡ a pretty, long legged blonde who goes by the name 'Venus' ㅡ taps on her arm. She lifts her head to be met with a smirk from her.

Just as Jennie is about to open her mouth to ask her "What?" the other girl leans in, mouth close to her ear.

"The boss has not stopped staring at you ever since she came out of her office."

The tips of Jennie's ears burn bright red, and she dares lift her gaze, peeking out through the hair that's hanging off her forehead.

True to the other girl's word, Lisa is leaning against the railings of the second floor landing, as Draco, if she's not mistaken, ㅡ Lisa's Viper snake ㅡ curled around the railings next to her while the woman herself is staring right at Jennie. There is a man next to Lisa, who's dressed in a suit ㅡ surprisingly, the man is not scared by the snake, which impressed her a bit ㅡ is talking to the Snake Charmer, but it does not seem like Lisa is actually listening to what the other businessman is saying.

Her inky eyes are trained on Jennie with a determined intensity that makes heat burn in the pit of Jennie's stomach. Makes her genuinely question if Lisa is trying to devour her whole just with a single look.

And also makes the dancer question why Lisa stares at her like that. Like Jennie is the most divine creature on this planet ㅡ but is choosing not to do anything else. Anything more.

Jennie wonders if that means she's expecting her to make the next move. After all, Lisa did gift her with a bracelet and kiss her face; lavished praise upon her the same way the clouds lavish rain upon the ground. That could, possibly, be considered making a first move.

Possibly. Definitely... Maybe?

The thing is, Jennie's got zero experience when it comes to dating or courting or whatever the hell this is supposed to be.

She's got zero experience and she's got no real assurance that Lisa feels even remotely the same way that Jennie feels for her so far. This might just be the woman appreciating Jennie's dancing skills and her good looks.

Jennie is not an overly confident person, neither is she smug, but she knows that she's got a beautiful face and an alluring body, and she knows how desired she is.

So, really ㅡ she wouldn't mind making the next move; she just has to know whether Lisa is even half as interested as she is.

"I've worked in this club for three years now, but in all my time here, I don't think I've seen the Snake Charmer half as much as I've seen her in the past two weeks." Venus says suddenly, pulling Jennie's attention away from Lisa and towards her.

The news makes her raise her eyebrows.

"Really?"

Venus smiles ㅡ coy and suggestive, an eyebrow curled up in a manner as teasing as it is suggestive.

"I assume it's got something to do with the arrival of a new face." Is all Venus says, winking at Jennie and graciously dancing away.

Jennie is left with yet another blush on her cheeks. Soon enough, if her skin doesn't stop turning red, she'll become one with the club.
