Langa couldn't stop staring at Reki. He never could. Thankfully, Reki never seemed to mind. In class, Reki was always either looking out the window daydreaming or talking Langa's ear off, and Langa loved him for it. Reki was doing the very thing right now, and Langa stared into his amber eyes.

"I mean, can you believe it? My birthday's in a month! Just a month! And just like that I'll be able to see color!" Reki squealed, rocking back and forth in his chair. Langa smiled lovingly, his head against the desk.

"I've been waiting for this ever since I could first say the word color! And finally it's here! I mean, you've got to know how obsessed with color I am right?!" Reki asked, scooting his desk closer to Langa.

"How obsessed?" Langa asked chucking, he loved hearing Reki talk.

"Dude! Crazy obsessed! I make sure before I buy any of my clothing that I check with the person I'm buying it from to make sure its extremely colorful. I mean I know I can't see it, but I want the people that can see color to know I'm a colorful guy, and you know about my hair right?" Reki asked.

"Of course," Langa said. He had heard the story a million times.

"Exactly, I even died my hair hot red, because apparently that's one of the brightest colors! How cool would it be if red was the first color I saw?! I mean think about it!" Reki cheered. Langa sat up, laughing.

"Are you trying to say you want your soulmate to be a vampire?" Langa asked. Reki burst out laughing.

"Oh yeah! I forgot! Normal people don't have red eyes! But hey, if I meet a cute vampire chick I'm not complaining!" Reki chuckled, and Langa chuckled along with him. Although, inside Langa's felt his stomach swarm in anxiety. "A cute chick" were the only words Langa could cycle through his brain.

"Ooooh or blue would be cool!" Reki continued. At that Langa's head snapped back up.

"You have the most beautiful blue eyes!" He could hear his mom saying. Langa blushed.

"Langa didn't you tell me you have blue hair?! That you got dared to dye it blue then just kept it that way?" Reki questioned excitedly. Langa looked into Reki's eager eyes.

"Yeah I do," Langa told him, grinning.

"Ahhh so cool! See, I wanna see that! Maybe blue should be the first color I see!" Reki cheered. Langa looked down, wondering if he should say what he was about to. He bit his tongue, but he said the words anyway.

"I have blue eyes," he whispered. Reki's head jerked up, and they both made eye contact blushing.

"See! Another reason blue would be a great color to see first! That way you don't have to be the only one weirdly staring into my eyes cause it's the only color you can see! We can both state into each others and have staring contests all the time!" Reki laughed. Langa felt his heart start to race. Reki don't know what he was saying.

Langa felt his imagination start to run wild. With thoughts of them skating together, locking eyes to the only colors in their vision. He imagined them sitting close on they're bench, staring into one another's eyes. They're lips getting closer and closer and...

"Langa! Woah! Lost you there for a minute!" Reki laughed, waving his hand in front of Langa's face. Langa blushed.

"So what do you want to do for your birthday anyway?" asked Langa, trying to change the subject. Reki started grinning like a maniac who was about to commit arson.

"Eeeeeh! I'm so glad you asked!" Reki squealed, causing some of their classmates to cast side looks at them. All the girls eyes especially. There was a big debate between the girls of Langa and Reki's school. There were the Langa fan girls, and the Reki fangirls, all determined to end up with one of them. The debate consisted of who was cuter and better boyfriend material. Although if they payed any attention at all maybe they would see that both of them were pretty fruity. But then again Joe and Cherry were freakin married and their fan girls were still oblivious. Of course, Langa and reki were oblivious to all of this.

"Okay soooo, my mom is gonna let us take a trip to the beach again! Me, you, Joe, Cherry, Miya, and shadow! We will all have the whole weekend to celebrate!!! We'll play games, get drunk, and most importantly...skate!!!" Reki yelled. Langa laughed, leaning in towards Reki.

"I can't wait," Langa sighed, getting lost in Reki's beautiful eyes once again. Oh gosh he was so beautiful. And Langa was starting to daydream again. What if Reki really did see blue? And what if they kissed under the moonlight beach? Langa knew that would never happen but he couldn't stop imagining it, and...

"Langa, your doing it again," Reki chuckled, shaking Langa's shoulder. Langa's attention went to Reki's firm hand on this right shoulder, feeling the warmth of it.

"Sorry, I don't mean to," Langa sighed, sheepishly.

"Man, I've told you not to apologize for this a million times now. You know I love you, and your amazing," Reki promised. Langa blushed.

"I love you too Reki," he whispered, looking down. Langa desperately wanted to add, "and not in the way you think" but of course he couldn't. Because that would mess up everything. He just had to be patient, and wait for Reki to get a soulmate color that was completely different from his eyes that way he could finally give up and stop torturing himself.
