"AHHHHHH! ITS TIME! ITS TIME! ITS TIME!!" Reki squealed, as Langa carried him piggy back ride style to the boat. Neither of them were sure how they had gotten in that predicament, but they weren't complaining.
Joe and Cherry walked alongside them, holding hands. Miya followed along, playing Nintendo switch. Shadow was nowhere to be seen. He had said there was an emergency so he couldn't go. Apparently the girl he liked at his work had asked him out, and he was giddy with delight.
"Eh, it's fine, he would have been the only straight one on the trip anyway. Kinda lame," Miya shrugged as they got there seats on the ship. Joe smirked.
"Good one Miya," he whispered, looking over at Reki's tomatoe red face.
"What did you mean by that Miya?" Reki asked alarmed, but Miya was already back into game world. Langa looked down blushing, wishing Reki could be his. Langa hasn't been able to stop thinking about a Reki for the last month at all. He couldn't get over the fact that there was chance, just a small chance that Reki could be his soulmate. Langa walked to the edge of the boat and stared of into the sparkling blue water.
He felt hands cup around his sides and he jumped, immediately thinking of Adam and panicking, but it was just Reki. The amber eyed, ball of energy. Langa's face flushed. Reki was so close to him, laughing.
"I was trying to jump scare you, I guess it worked," Reki laughed some more, Langa began to as well. Reki always tried to pop out and scare him like a five year old, a game Reki had played with his little sisters countless times. Langa loved that Reki had adopted the game into his everyday life.
"Yeah it most certainly did," Langa chuckled, reaching for Reki's hand. He wasn't sure what possessed him to do it, but since Reki touched him all the time, maybe it was okay to touch him back. At least a little."So Reki," Langa said, lacing their fingers together. Reki gulped, and tuned fiery red. "What are you going to wish for?"
Reki felt his heart beating faster than Langa could skateboard. Langa was so close to him, that Reki realized how long his eyelashes were. And he couldn't stop staring at them. And Langa was HOLDING HIS HAND. Why? Maybe holding hands was just a thing friends did. But then why we're people giving them strange looks, like they were a couple? Why did Reki like the idea of people thinking he was Langa's boyfriend?
Reki felt his hands growing sweaty, as he held on tight to Langa's hand, grinning. He wasn't sure why he was grinning so much. Maybe it was because he was really nervous and trying to not give that away. Or maybe he was just really happy to be holding hands with the boy he loved.
"What do you mean?" Reki asked hesitantly. Langa smiled. Langa wasn't sure of what he was saying or what he was doing. He had no clue how he was staying so calm, it was like another personality had just possessed him. One of more confidence.
"I mean, for your birthday...what are you going to wish for?" Langa asked, holding eye contact with Reki. Forcing him to look into his eyes.
"Uh..." Reki started, unsure of what to say. He knew exactly what he was going to wish for. He was going to wish that the first color he would see would be blue, and hopefully, when he looked up, it would be.
"It's a secret," Reki said,"If I tell you it won't come true."
Langa looked out into the ocean, and let go of Reki's hand. Then he turned back to Reki with a smile on his face.
"Well then hopefully it will come true, so you can tell me what it was," Langa said.
Reki's heart beat faster. He wanted to tell Langa everything. About how much he had questioned his sexuality around Langa, about the countless drawings of him, and all of Reki's inner most thoughts and desires.
"Look at those two and tell me their not soumlmates," Joe commented, as he lounged by Cherry, stroking his husband's pink hair softly.
"I never said I didn't agree with you, but we shouldn't assume. That could lead to things going astray. Before we interfere with them at all we must stick to the plan that we wait for Reki's birthday. Only once we know his color can we intervene," Cherry explained.
"Okay time to catch me up with the plan," A voice said behind them. Joe and Cherry turned to see Miya behind them. His cat hood was pulled up around his face, and his eyes were glued to his game.
"Don't you spend to much time on that thing?" Joe asked, very sad like. Miya rolled his eyes.
"Doesn't your husband spend to much time cheating on you with Carla?" Miya asked. Joe huffed.
"Yes, in fact he does," he said. Cherry flicked his hair back in response.
"So come on, what's the plan?" Miya probed.
"Nothing yet really. We have to wait to see if Reki sees blue or not."
"And if he does?"
"Then simple. Party games, leaving them alone together, and so on," Cherry finished smirking.
"Ah yes of course you would know all that wouldn't you? You flirty bastard!" Joe grinned.
"Well it worked on you didn't it?" Cherry said slyly in return. Miya rolled his eyes.
"Whatever, I'll leave you two lovebirds alone. I can't believe I'm fifth wheeling alone," Miya pouted.
"Oh come on Miya. Maybe you can branch out from your games a little on this vacay, find yourself a date," Joe suggested. Miya fiercely blushed, giving Joe a look of rage.
"No!" Miya yelled, stomping off. Miya had vowed he would never like anyone again after his first crush. He had been completely head over heels for his best friend when they had turned on Miya. Besides, Miya didn't like talking about his feelings.
He still wasn't out to his parents, and he planned to never be. That's why he loved Joe so much. Joe was a role model to him. Joe accepted him for exactly who he was. Miya loved Joe so much. In fact he loved all his slime friends, and considered them his actually family.
