Some Hero I turned out to be part (3)

Benie an Gwen eagerly waited in front of the emergency while the doctor was busy treating the injuries he had suffered to to the blast.

Benie couldn't stop thinking about Rojo and how it was all her fault a her grandpa was currently in the hospital, she should have never let her guard down made sure she was down for the count, she had then maybe her grandpa wouldn't be in the hospital fighting for his.

"Hey" said Gwen noticing how tensed up Benie was.

"Go ahead and say it" said Benie, shocking and confusing Gwen.

"Say what?" Asked Gwen.

"How this it's all my fault that grandpa in currently in a hospital bed fight for his life because I couldn't protect him" said Benie trying her best not to allow the tears forming in her eyes to fall.

"It's not your fault Benie you tried your best and did all that you could" said Gwen.

"No I didn't, I have the power of ten freaking aliens Gwen, I should been more than powerful enough to protect my family but instead I ended up putting grandpa in the hospital" said Benie as she raised up the arm that wielded the Omnitrix.

"What good is having this thing and being a hero if I couldn't even protect my own grandpa" said Benie, allowing her tears to finally fall down.

Gwen was taken aback upon seeing Benie cry as she was really one for showing any emotion that was anger or annoyance, this was the very first time she had seen her cousin shed a tear.

"Benie..." Gwen was cut off mid sentence by the emergency room's door open up and the doctor stepping out.

Benie then whipped away her tears and went to the doctor along side Gwen to ask about their grandpa's condition.

"How is he doc" asked Benie with the fear and worry for her grandpa evident in his face.

"He'll live, luckily the wasn't too badly injured and I must say for a man his age he's incredible strong" said the doctor.

"Can we go see him now" asked Gwen.

"Sure but I recommend not doing anything that will stress him out" said the doctor before leaving.

"Come on Benie, let's go see how grandpa is" said Gwen but Benie remained perfect still.

"Benie, what's wrong don't you want to see grandpa" asked Gwen.

"You go ahead, I...I need some time to myself" said Benie as she not wanting to see her grandpa and be reminded of how she failed to protect him.

"Come on Benie, I'm sure grandpa would want to see both of his grandkids by his side" said Gwen as she grabbed hold of Benie.

"I SAID I DON'T WANT TO GO GWEN!!!!" Yelled Benie as he dragged his hand away from Gwen's grasp.

Benie then looked at Gwen seeing the look of fear, worry and concern in her eyes for her and upon doing so realized that she needed to calm down.

Benie then took a deep breath before saying, "I promise I'll go see grandpa but not right now okay. I just *sigh* need to be alone right now".

Gwen upon hearing what Benie said understood that their grandpa getting hurt on her watch must have been too much for and that she still need a little bit if time to process everything that had happen.

"Alright, take as much time as you need" said Gwen before turning away and walking in to the room their grandpa was staying in.

Once Gwen was gone Benie looked down at the device on her writ, replaying the events that led to her grandpa get hurt, thinking about how if she had taken Rojo seriously and taken her out quickly her grandpa wouldn't be currently lying on a hospital bed.

She thought having a watch that gave her the powers of different aliens made her some kind of a hero but what good is being a hero and having all this power if you couldn't keep the people you love the most safe.

Benie then shifted her gazes from the crazy alien powered watch on her writ and on the window, thinking about how Rojo, the person responsible for her grandpa's current condition was still out there.

She wanted nothing more that to make that over grown bucket of bolts pay for what she did to her grandpa at any and all costs.

"Hey grandpa, feeling alright" said Gwen as she entered the room.

"Don't worry Gwen I'm fine. I may be old but I'm still got a few more days left in me" said Max with a warm smile on his face upon seeing Gwen walk in.

Gwen upon hearing what her grandpa said couldn't help but giggle glad to see her grandpa's see her grandpa's sense of humor was still there

"Where's Benie" asked Max, noticing that Benie hadn't come to see him.

"She says he needs sometime, she not really taking your little accident well" said Gwen with a sigh as she thought about how Benie reacted when she told her that they should both go see how Max was doing.

Max upon hearing what Gwen said just sighed, understand it must be ruff for Benie have to go through all this.

"I'm worried about her grandpa. I know Benie can be, well difficult at times but this something seriously wrong, I can feel it. She's not alright" said Gwen with genuine worry and concern for her cousin.

Max upon hearing what Gwen said just sighed understand where she was coming from.

"You know you cousin isn't really good at expressing herself. When she's sad or upset she would much rather hit, yell or break something than ever sit around mopped and crying about it. She just needs time to cool off and clear her head" said Max.

"I hope you're right grandpa" said Gwen who still couldn't shake the feeling of worry in her heart, fearing the Benie, in the troubled state she was in would do something even more reckless than she normally would.

Gwen stayed in the room with Max for awhile until it begin to get dark before deciding to go check to see if Benie was doing alright only find out, much to her horror, that Benie was gone.

Really, I published another chapter.
Didn't think I had it in me but I guess I can still squeeze out a few more chapters since from my noodle.

Anyway, don't know when or if I'll publish another chapter but if this chapter and book gets a lot of views I would be tempted to continue this story .
