(Zhongli's) pov

zhongli and childe were talking about what they should do the whole day zhongli missed this, missed hanging out with his childe, even though zhongli knew that childe was only trying to make him jealous he couldn't help but actually feel jealous, "hmm..what else?" childe spoke "childe" zhongli said "hmm?" childe hummed in response "do you want to hang out with me and xiao?" zhongli said childe's face lit up "really?? where are you guys going??" childe asked "i believe xiao said that we're going to a festival." zhongli answered "but doesn't xiao hate crowded places?" childe asked "yes, but he agreed because traveller asked him to come with them," said zhongli "ah that's why, xiao is really fond of that traveller huh?" childe said "well then! when do we leave?" childe asked "tonight at 8pm," zhongli said "alright then!"

~time skip~

(Childe's) pov

"zhongli let's get ready now!" childe said "i guess we could prepare now" zhongli said "yay! let's go bathe now!" childe said exited because he wanted to go to the festival, not like zhongli who wasn't exited at all, just like xiao he also wasn't fond of crowds, but he would go for the sake of xiao and childe, "of course, let us bathe" zhongli replied, they both went to take a bath,

a few minutes has passed and they went to change into new pair of clothes, after that they went out the door to go to the festival,

as they approached closer to the festival zhongli grew more and more anxious, childe noticed this so he held the anxious man's hand and pulled him closer, "it'll be okay li," childe said placing a kiss on the others forehead, zhongli felt a little less anxious because of what childe did, "tell me when it gets too much for you, okay?" childe asked "alright.." zhongli said feeling a lot better because he knows no matter how big the crowd is childe will be there to comfort him.

a few moments later the ginger spotted the traveller and xiao "look li, there they are!" childe said dragging zhongli towards the two people "ah i finally found you guys!" childe said "hello childe i haven't seen you in a long time!" the traveller said "so where where should we go first?" childe asked

two hours hours has passed and zhongli got more and more uncomfortable by the loud noises, the bright lights, and the crowded places, "ngh...so loud..." zhongli thought, he didn't wanna disturb childe and the traveller because they seemed to be having so much fun, also xiao looked like he was also having fun which he hasn't in a long time, "it'll be selfish of me if i interrupted.."

zhongli kept thinking if he should tell childe, even though he didn't wanna ruin the moment, but he couldn't take this anymore, so zhongli tugged on the ginger's sleeve "hmm? is everything okay li?" childe asked "i-i wanna go home.." zhongli said quietly, childe cupped the others cheeks and he saw the brunette having tears in his eyes, his eyes widened, he grabbed the others waist and held him close, "sorry guys, zhongli's feeling tired we're gonna head back now" childe said "awh alright me and xiao will stay here to watch the fireworks!" traveller said "alright see you guys soon!" childe said, him and zhongli went to a more quieter place, childe hugged zhongli who was still a little bit crying, "shh..it's okay li they're gone now.." childe said reassuringly, "why didn't you tell me sooner?" childe asked while playing with the brunette's hair, "i-i didn't wanna disturb you guys..you seemed so happy.." zhongli said sniffling "nothing makes me happier than seeing you happy and comfortable li.." childe said, hearing those words made zhongli more emotional and started crying even more, "ah! are you okay?? did i say something wrong??" childe said "n-no it's just that..it's been awhile since someone comforted me like this.." zhongli said hugging childe tighter, "ahh..i see..well let's go home now alright?" childe said placing multiple kisses on the others head, "mm.." zhongli hummed in response, as soon as they got home, they immediately changed into their sleep wear and cuddled all night, zhongli felt safe and comfortable with childe, he's the only person who could make him feel this way, he slept knowing he had someone to rely on, <33
