Agis looked at himself in the full length mirror, the servants faces blurred as they rushed around him, poking and prodding and tightening. They fussed with his hair, his jacket that felt to tight, the color all wrong. They had insisted he be dressed in Spring Court green for this event.. his brothers wedding. He felt.. sick and numb all at the same time. The clothes were to tight.. touching his skin to much, he'd grown so accustomed to the loose light clothes of the summer court he had forgotten the fashion of the spring court, he felt hot and claustrophobic.
One of the maids who was fixing his hair looked over his shoulder and met his eyes in the mirror, her expression softened, "Just one day M'Lord" she said into his ear so no one else could here "one day.. the. We're back home and you can swim in the ocean" her brown eyes sparkled and her light green skin seemed to shimmer, she was a wood nymph and one of the few maids he took with him everywhere, she had become his friend and confidant, "Thank you Serena" he said gruffly, she nodded and went back to fixing his hair so it fell just right, braiding one side of it and pulling it back into a neat bun.

His thoughts turned to Litha.. he was going to have to stand up at that alter with his brother.. and watch him marry the only female he'd ever loved... he couldn't blame Davin, not really. Davin had been there for Litha when, Agis couldn't. He was there during the battle of shadows when Mavous captured her. He had saved her while Agis had been on the front lines.. he didn't regret that part.. not really. He'd been protecting his people and had been there for his soldiers. The banner of summer court over him, for the first time.. in that battle field.. he truly felt like their high lord. And so he couldn't fault Litha and Davin for getting married. Couldn't deny the mating bond between them. But still... his gut twisted and his jaw clenched. And he longed to retreat back to the summer court.. where he could be left alone to brood.

Serena waved her hands and shoo'd the remaining servants out of the room.
As soon as they were gone she turned to back to Agis "one day.. and then back to the sea" she said patting his cheek and smoothing his hair one final time before she too left him.
Agis stared at himself, the cut of the green suit was beautiful. It hugged his body and made him look powerful and lithe. But it itched and it was... a color he thought he'd left behind. Being here.. in spring.. brought up so many memories... good and bad.. he couldn't even bare to look at the statue in town square... that of his mothers.. his mothers who had fought for this court and for their children for so long... he squeezed his eyes shut as if it would protect him from the swirling emotion in his gut, the guilt, the shame, the anger and all the answers yet unresolved. He sighed and shut it all off. Slamming the emotions aside. Today he needed to be there for his brother. The High Lord of Spring. Davin... his idiot brother. He loved his twin. He did. Today just came with so much... he shook his head ridding himself of the last of the emotions and painted a broad smile on his face. Silver-blue eyes shinning her turned away from the mirror... the reflection a person he no longer felt he was. And walked out the door.
