** One month later **
"Why are you four so insistent on spending all of my money at the Pizzaplex?" I ask as I sign the question for Auralie.
"We never get to see Daddy anymore," Addie mumbles, signing the statement. At this point, we've all gotten used to signing whatever we're saying, even if Auralie isn't around.
"I know, kids. This has gone on a lot longer than I expected. And I'm sorry for that." I sigh. "We'll go to the Pizzaplex."
"Can you text Daddy to meet us at DJ's dance floor?" Al asks. "Please? We haven't seen him in months!"
"I guess. But I don't know if he'll read my text," I warn them. "So you might not see him."
That's okay, Auralie signs with a smile.
** Three hours later **
I'm wandering around the food stands, looking for something I may want for lunch. The kids already ate--they're at the arcade now, waiting for their father to show up. Well, more like hoping. I sent the text, but it's still marked as delivered. He wasn't on stage when the floor show started. They used a pre-recorded message. I'm tempted to call him and figure out what's wrong, but... I don't know how he feels about me. The last time I saw him, I hurt him--emotionally and physically! He probably had a lot of flashbacks about Marilyn after that. I feel so bad... How am I supposed to apologize for that?
"Noah? Is that you?" a familiar voice asks behind me.
I turn around, greeted by Gregory's smiling face.
"Gregory? What're you doing here?" I ask, surprised to see him in here.
"Mike brings me inside with him whenever he needs help repairing something." He takes a short sip of whatever drink is in his fountain drink cup. Knowing him, it's probably just water. "I usually give him the tools he needs as he makes the repairs. I was just with him, but I lost him in the crowd."
I chuckle. "He has a way of doing that. Do you remember where you're supposed to go?"
"The laundry room, I think. One of the security S.T.A.F.F bots broke down."
"Do you know how you get there?"
"Yeah."
"Then go, you goofball!" I exclaim, laughing. "I'll see you later."
He grins and runs off.
I sigh, then look back at the food stands. But I think I lost my appetite. I'm not hungry anymore. I guess I'll watch over the kids at DJ's dance floor, but stay far enough away so that if Mike does come, he won't be by me. I don't want another fight to start and one or both of get hurt, whether it's emotionally or physically.

FanfictionThis was originally going to be a skit for Afton Family Skits, but it's too long. Way too long. And it's got a plot that would be fun for a book! So, that's what I did! I made it a book. It's a very dramatic book, though, so be warned. This story ta...
