ii; the three brothers

That cock-sucking asswipe! Raye grit her teeth at the memory of the friendly pirate captain. Doesn't he remember how notorious a certain someone with that name is? How are they even related?

When she finally found the entrance to the woods, Raye began her journey up the mountain, searching for any signs of people. After what felt like hours of trees and animals, she located a small house in the clearing. There were a few people there, so she made sure to walk over silently.

A large lady with bright orange hair was scolding three children. However, she easily found her target, the one with a straw hat half the size of him. "Monkey D. Luffy," she said to herself. She liked the sound of his name, although it reminded her too much of a certain someone with a very similar name. Raye didn't necessarily dislike that man, but they weren't on friendly terms either. She admired his strength, and his blatant disrespect of the World Government impressed her quite a bit.

Her thoughts drifted when the kids suddenly started bolting in her direction. "Ace! Sabo! Luffy! Get back here right now you damn brats!" The woman hollered at the trio, chasing after them and waving her fists. Raye quickly hopped on top of the tree branch, careful not to be noticed by any of the others.

The woman, who Raye assumed was "Dadan", slowed her run and panted heavily, swearing under her breath at the three she was pursuing. "Garp will have my head if those idiots die!" she grunted. After a minute of returning the air into her lungs, Dadan stomped back to the hut, an aura of rage surrounding her. It couldn't fool anyone, though, it was obvious she was worried for the three. So he really is related to that geezer somehow, Raye pondered. But what about the other two?

She perched on the branch and swung her legs, wondering how to go about the situation. The marine hero wasn't here at the moment, but now that she was aware of his relation to the brat she was trying to find, things got a lot more complicated. "It wouldn't be logical for him to just show up randomly when I happen to be here," she thought aloud to herself. "But I can't be too careful.."

Raye shrugged her shoulders. Even if she couldn't beat him in a fight, she could escape from Garp if necessary. More importantly, she wanted to see more of the Luffy kid. Raye flipped out of the tree and landed lightly on the grass, perking her ears for any sounds. Once she heard the high-pitched yelling, she started to track the kids down.

When two days had gone by, Raye decided to confront them personally. She had been watching them for a little bit, trying to grasp the boy's personality. However, she just couldn't understand Shanks' goal quite yet.

The boys were currently fighting with an alligator, and Luffy was taking the lead in the attack. Which seemed to be a horrible idea, because the other two, she remembered their names as Ace and Sabo, were screaming at him not to get ahead of himself. She lightly smiled as she observed them interact. It made her nostalgic of her younger days, with her siblings as well as her two crew-mate friends.

"Now that I think about it," Raye rubbed her chin thoughtfully, "it's been a while since I've heard from Buggy. I wonder how he's do—" She never got to finish because a tearful scream snapped her back to the present. Luffy looked like he was about to be snapped in half by the jaws of the massive reptile. The other two boys were panicking and trying to hit the top of the beast's head with pipes, only to be met with a few angry growls.

Raye sighed, not wanting to have to be the hero. She took out a new cigarette and sparked it alive with her nails, two of them functioning as flint and steel. The jaw of the alligator was shakily closing, and Ace wasn't even trying to hide his worry anymore.
