"Why are you here?" a masculine voice called out from behind her. Shit! she cursed, moving her body behind the closest kid, which happened to be Sabo. If I can't see him, he can't see me!
Unfortunately, this wasn't true. And the old man certainly saw her. "It's been a while. Mind telling me why you are here with my grandsons?" Garp questioned her, narrowing his eyes.
"Grandsons? Really?" Raye stood up, tilting her head sideways. "There's no way, you old man! They're like a 100 years younger," she blurted out. Luffy laughed, and Ace made a 'pffft' sound and tried to hold back his own laughter. Rarely did he see anyone else disrespect his grandpa like that.
"What did you say you brat?!" Garp
shouted at her, moving to punch her in the face. She swerved away last minute, leaving the unsuspecting Sabo to take the force of the blow. "How could you hit your own grandson, you damn geezer?!" Raye screeched at him, shocked at how easily he went through with the hit. "It's good training to become a marine!" he responded, continuing to try and land a fist on her. Fed up with having to dodge, she flipped over his head and landed in front of the two shaking kids, and one knocked down boy."You old man! That's literally abuse," she yelled at him, like an angry cat. Her rage grew when the man just picked his nose absentmindedly. Listen to me! she roared internally.
"But seriously," Garp said, shaking her out of her fuming mood, "what are you doing on this island, 'Black Panther'?" She just replied with a smug stare, almost challenging the man indirectly. "I just came to meet the young pirate my dear friend bet on." A tick appeared on Garp's head from the mention of that 'friend'. "That damn Red-Haired, influencing my dear grandson!" He growled, punching down a nearby tree in frustration. Raye gave him a bored look, but sighed and relaxed her posture. Sadly, she forgot a crucial detail.
"So you do know Shanks after all! You big liar," Luffy whined from behind her. She faked ignorance, hoping the boy was at least a bit foolish, "who?" Luffy pouted, but it seemed to work because he didn't say anything after that.
"But since you haven't mentioned it," Garp stole her attention back from his young relative, "I'm assuming you don't know Ace's identity, then." Raye raised a brow at his revelation. What was so special about this Ace kid? "What do you mean, old man?" she asked carefully, realizing he must be important after all. When he didn't respond, she looked harder at him. She literally almost screamed in frustration. How could somebody fall asleep that quick?
"Wake up, you moron!" she screeched at him, awestruck at his audacity. He just laughed at her, and motioned for her to come forward. "Oi, Ace, you come with us too," he commanded the oldest brother, who was listening intently to their conversation. Unlike his younger sibling, who was preoccupied with a bug on his finger. Ace approached the two slowly, crossing his arms and following them somewhere else.

The three of them sat at the edge of the cliff, with Raye dangling her legs over the ocean, Garp next to her, and Ace situated a few meters behind them, on a rock. Garp sighed, but he finally spoke up.
"Ace is the son of Roger," he plainly spoke. Raye blinked. Surely I heard that wrong..? she tried to convince herself that Garp hadn't just dropped a giant bomb on her. It couldn't be possible. "S-so blunt.." Ace stuttered, not expecting his grandpa to reveal him that openly. So it's true?! she didn't believe her ears. Her mind must be playing tricks. There was simply no way.
