I spent the rest of my first day wishing to the stars that it would be over already. The only good point in the day was meeting karma and she lives up to the reputation of her name, because most people think she's a bitch. I however found her refreshingly blunt, she doesnt put up with anybodys crap and tells it as it is.
I met her as I was rushing to my class after lunch, I was running down the hall and I ran right smack into her, sending us both flying backwards onto our butts. She'd also sent me a death glare from hell and I couldn't help but think 'well, aren't we making friends today?' I thought of returning her hostility but if I'd just been knocked on my butt by a random stranger speeding down an empty hallway I think id be extremely pissed off too. She raised her eyebrows
"not gonna apologize, huh?" I sighed, stood up and reached a hand out to help her up, she had ignored until she was fully standing then she reached her own hand out and shook it. I smiled politely in turn, "still waiting on that apology" she said and corner of her mouth had twitched upward. "Yeah, sorry about that. I didn't mean to run into you, I got caught up and I was late for class."
She had smirked at me and raised a single peirced eyebrow. " yeah, I'm pretty sure the whole school knows what caught you up" I sighed "all this time to gossip and no one told me I was sitting at an assholes lunch table." She laughed at that, clutching her stomache with one hand and resting the other against a near by locker.
"You...you didn't just...oh my god." She sputtered out in between laughs. "What's so funny?" I had asked she giggled at me "you called him an asshole, no one calls The Cyrus Mathews an asshole. No one without a death wish any way..." she trailed off and stared at me.
To be honest it creeped me out a bit but with me one emotion almost always outdoes any other and that emotion is called curiosity. "What?" I had asked tilting my head to the side. "Hmmm... you don't look suicidal... but you know sometimes you can never tell." She had started circling me, examining every inch of me, making feel a tad bit uncomfortable and annoyed.
"I'm not suicidal. What the heck are you talking about any way?!" She looked at me for a couple more seconds and that time I had stared right back, She broke eye contact first, smiling wide "what's your name?"she asked "Jay, and yours?" I asked back. "Karma.well Jay, I like you, we just might turn out to be friends"
As the day went on I agreed with her more and more. We had all but one of our afternoon classes together and every time someone thought she wasn't listening they'd lean in and warn me about how much of a witch she was. One thing you don't do to me is warn me about something, once you do that my interest and curiousity are peaked and there's no stopping me from doing whatever it is I wanna do at the moment.
Of course I took caution and asked a couple kids why they didn't like her, but it turns out the just don't like her opinions and her way of expressing them.
I chuckled to myself as I walked across the school parking lot, yeah I could see me and karma getting along perfectly. "Whats so funny?" I turned to see the boy with brown eyes who had stolen my headphones during lunch.
I would of genuinely smiled if it weren't for the fact that he hadn't been the one to ask. "Nothing" I said in a dumb and flirty way. Before skipping off, hoping they'd leave before I got to my bike and ruined this whole girly act I had put on.
"Really, you sure you don't wanna tell me" he was walking so close behind me, his breath stirred my hair and I had to supress a shiver. I just kept walking pretending to be unefected by whatever tricks he was pulling out of his hat. He walked ahead of me towards a bike which I asumed was his, I was right. The engine roared to life as he pulled up in front of me.
"Hop on" he said with an "inocent" smile on his face. I shook my head once and the smile grew to a smirk "what are you scared? All you have to do is hold on tight." Wink, (yup he winked at me) I shook my head again making my way towards the bike beside his and throwing a leg over.
I looked behind me "I got my own ride, thanks" I couldn't help but smirk at the boys who's jaws were curently hitting the ground. I turned in my seat towards the boy with brown eyes " I didn't get your name before, I'm Jay" I said holding my hand out towards him. "Keith" he said shaking my hand and flashing me a smile.
"This is Cyrus" he pointed to the "badboy" himself who now had an intrigued look on his face. Uh oh, that's not good. " it was nice meeting you" I said to keith before reaching to turn the engine on.
"Jay!" I turned towards the voice of my older brother, josh. He's two years older than me and the third youngest of my five older brothers. he was running towards me "What's up?" I asked as he reached me. "I need a ride, can I...uh... borrow your bike?" I raised an eyebrow "what for?" he gave me a sheepish smile "a date, that I'm late for." I didn't need to hear any more. I smiled and tossed him my keys. "Bring it back in one peace and maybe I'll let you live" he grinned at me"thanks"
So now I don't have my own ride, keith took off somewhere. So I'm defenitely walking
"You need a ride now?" cyrus said smirking at me. Well its better than walking in these shoes I walked over and sat down behind him, wrapping my arms around his waist without a second thought. " something tells me you've done this before" I smirked and put my hands flat against his abbs, leaning up I whispered so that my breath fanned out against his neck " what makes you think that?" His adams apple bobbed up and down "Just a hunch" his voice was even but his abbs were clenching beneath my hands.
"How do you know where I live?" I asked curiously "and why did we park next door?" As soon as I heard that sentence leave my mouth panic set in. My eyes went wide, NO!! There's no way my life is that unoriginal!!
I chose to ignore the possibility of my next door neighbor being Cyrus Mathews and walked towards my front door. Just as I reached for the door knob, hoping that again my brothers forgot to lock it a hand grabbed my wrist twirling around as another grabbed my waist pushing me into the door. "What? Not gonna thank your neighbor for taking you home?" His face was so close he was basicaly talking against my lips. I knew what I should do if I wanted him to leave me alone.
I just had to sleep with him, its not like i was a virgin or anything, but I wasn't willing to be that extreme. So instead I lifted my leg up behind me to push off the door, using my hands to push him away. I turned towards the door "Thanks for the ride" I said before closing the door in his face.
