CHAPTER ONE

GRAVE MISTAKE

Journal Entry #2148

Scaramouche and I got into a fight. Again. Like a physical one. We're not suspended but recommended to take a few days off to cool down or whatever. He fucking hates my guts but I can't help but fall for him. Call it enemies to lovers but Luma fucking Miyazaki is in love again. And we all know what happened last time.

"They already asked me out so" like who fucking says that? I thought you were poly too THAT'S WHAT I WAS FUCKING IMPLYING ARE YOU DUMB?? Whatever, she's irrelevant anyways. All of them are. I don't talk to any of them now anyways. Kou left me on read years ago. Emi's just dumb. Des is just...fuck Des. She's a fake bitch!

Anyways, now that I have a few days off. I don't know what I'm gonna do. It's not like I can play video games or hang out with Xiao since he'll be at school. I guess I can read? But, that's not as much fun if I have three days off of school. Maybe I can just buy more books. I'm here anyways.

Fuck, Scaramouche looks pretty. I forgot he worked here. I know he doesn't enjoy this job, given the look on his face. But, it would be a dream to work here. Not just because of Scaramouche. It's been a dream of mine since I was fifteen. I've just never gotten around to applying here.

I got a text from Xiao. We're doing a GTA heist tonight. Gotta go.

Luma <3

Luma packed up their pens in their case, stuffing the case into their book bag amongst their books and other notebooks. Xiao and Luma haven't done a GTA heist in a while. So, the excitement of doing one again was wrapped up in Luma's head. They were so excited that they made a fatal mistake.

They left their journal on the table.

About an hour later, Scaramouche's shift was almost over. He finished stacking a few books on the shelves before bringing the box back to the employee room. He placed it in the area where a few other empty boxes were laid. Exiting the employee room, he made his way to the café to get his last coffee for the night.

"A refill, Childe," he told the employee and fellow schoolmate. "Come on, man. Don't sound so harsh," he said cheerfully, taking Scaramouche's money and opening the cash register. "Fuck off," Scaramouche hissed. "Are you mad they suspended you for fighting with Luma again?" "They didn't suspend me! They just told me to not go to school for a few days," he murmured after shouting. "Aw, your mom really does have a soft spot for you after all, huh?" Childe joked, knowing his mother was the principal.

"Just make my damn drink," Scaramouche replied, crossing his arms. "I dunno what you have against Luma, dude. What'd they even do to you?" Childe asked, beginning to prepare his drink. "They're annoying." "Did you never get out of that phase of bullying your crush?" The ginger teased, making Scaramouche glare at him.
