Chapter 4: The Baby Shower

True was lying in bed fast asleep. However, she was soon woken up by orange sunrays coming through her window and shining on her face. She scrunched her face, then slowly opened her eyes and sat up. Then, she yawned. Bartleby was asleep next to her, talking in his sleep.

"Yeah, yeah, I am awesome. Of course I like flying!" said Bartleby

True giggled at this. She couldn't dare wake him, so she got out of bed and went downstairs. Courage was in the kitchen making coffee. However, Faith wasn't there.

"Morning daddy." said True a bit drowsily while rubbing her left eye.

"Oh good morning little wish. Did you sleep well last night?" asked Courage

"Mhm. Say, where's mommy?" asked True

"Oh, well, she's still in bed. Since the baby has grown more inside her tummy, she and the baby need more rest." said Courage

"Oh. That makes sense." said True

"Yep. So, whatcha want for breakfast baby doll?" asked Courage

"Hmm, well, pancakes are my favorite, but I want to try something new." said True

"You know, I think I know just the thing. You just have a seat, and I'll make it for you!"

"Ok daddy." said True

True sat down at the table.

"Hey daddy?" asked True

"Hey whaty?" answered Courage

"How much longer till the baby comes?" asked True

"Oh it'll be a little while still. A few months."

"I wish the baby would come sooner. I can't wait!" said True

"You and me both sister. But the baby will come when it comes."

"Yeah, I know." said True

Just then, Faith came walking into the kitchen.

"Morning guys." said Faith

"Good morning mommy!" said True

"Morning honey." said Courage

Faith sat down. Courage handed her a cup of coffee.

"Yay coffee. Thanks." said Faith

Then Bartleby walked in.

"*yawn* Morning everyone." said Bartleby

"Good morning Bee." said True

"So True, do you remember what's happening today?" asked Faith

"Um, no. What is it again?" asked True

"Well. Today we're having my baby shower." said Faith

"Uh wha? You're gonna get showered on by babies?" asked Bartleby

"Oh goodness no! A baby shower is a party where family and friends get together and *shower* the mommy with gifts to make sure she has everything she needs for the baby." said Faith

"Oh. I knew that." said Bartleby

"When is everyone coming mommy?" asked True

"About twelve." said Faith

"Ok True, ready to see the special breakfast?" asked Courage

"Uh huh."  said True

"Ok, here you go!" said Courage. He sat a plate down for all of them.

"Uh, daddy, what is it?" asked True

"It's called an omelet. It's an egg mixed with a bunch of other things, Go on, try it." said Courage
