No POV:
A clang of weapons shook the air as 2 hunters fought in a field of graves and white flowers. Gherman, a trained professional hunter using a Burial Blade and his Blunderbust verses his student Elliot Wickleson, a hunter who experienced more death and success than any other using his Holy Moonlight Sword. The sword gleamed in black and teal light as their weapons skidded and slid off each other, looking for flesh to enter and pierce.
"Grah! Hyagh!" Gherman yelled as he swung in an ordered fashion only the most trained hunters have learned. "Hmmpf! Gherr!" Elliot grunted as he swung in a monstrous fashion as this fighting style had saved him more than what Elliot would like to admit. "Hrggh! You never talked at all to me. Was it that you trusted no one, that you knew that I work for the Moon Presence, or maybe just that you had some weird suspicions? Ah... what does it matter NOW!" Gehrman asked as he swung, stabbing in the side of Elliot piercing the lungs all the way through that the Scythe poked out the other side of Elliot. "GHHERAAAHHHH!" Elliot screamed as he rose the sword above his head and slammed it into Gehrman's shoulder, breaking the old man's collar and into his lung and heart while healing himself. "Gah! As expected of you. Always using that beastly fight style. Always going over any limit that you should HAVE!" Gehrman spoke as he lifted Elliot by his ribs and threw him across the field. Elliot had quickly risen from the flowers and injected himself while running at Gehrman. "You obviously need more training. No beast can kill a hunter, " Gehrman said as he took his blunderbust and shot at Elliot. Elliot dodged forward, surprising Gehrman, who took the blade and was about to strike with his blade until a bang was heard. After less than a second, a gut reaching ripping sound erupted, sounding that Elliot had shot and shoved both of his fists into Gehrman. "Bluchk! W-well... good hu- no, Elliot, my pupil... answer a single question to allow me to awake in peace from this dream, " Gehrman said as he puked out blood that was rushing into his throat. Elliot stayed quiet and listened to his teacher in this dream. Gehrman put a hand on Elliot's shoulder and asked, "Will you take care of the doll... and end this accursed hunter's dream?"
Elliot thought for a moment. He thought of when he first died, he thought of the cursed people, he remembered the cleric beast, he had remembered destroying families by him being too good. He remembered meeting the good people still fighting to survive, how unforgiving he had to fight just to defeat other hunters, how he had killed what he thought were monsters and beasts only to realize they all were people who couldn't control what cursed blood they had in them. He had remembered when he accursed the land by killing what he thought was another monster only to see it was too late as he had brought the world to darker times. He remembered each umbilical cord he was forced to eat. He remembered every friend he had to kill because they were far too gone, and he remembered how he had to kill those who were heroes of the people and how he was never like them.
All that pain was not for nothing though, where he failed to save some people he saved hundreds more, where he died many times only made him better, the times he killed hunters he also meet friends who never gave up, how he never gave up and how even though he was no hero he knew 1 thing no one else had ever done. He had found love, life, and victory in the hunter's dream."I will... just watch me master, " Elliot spoke for once in his life as he grasped every organ he could and pulled "Good bye... may you wake from this horrible dream."
A light had taken Elliot's attention as someone he knew to well had came down to confront Elliot. The Moon Presence was finally here. Elliot readied for his final battle, here and now this dream will finally end.
In the real world:
Gerhman awakened in his wheelchair and looked around at the outside of the workshop. Gehrman rose his arm to his face as the sun burned his eyes. In suprise and astonishment, he put down his hand and stared at the sun. Gehrman smiled as he looked over to the workshop and opened the door, looking inside. Dust covered everything but there was something most interesting in the shop. A doll with a person's corpse laying on the lap of the doll, with the doll's hands at the sides of the corpse's head.
"Well, there good hunter... I knew you would keep your promise." Gehrman said, as soon the telephone rang. Gehrman picked it up and smirked as he knew who was on the other side.
Soon after, the hunter and doll were put in a coffin together with their weapons, armor, and tools. The ones to join the funeral and came were only the hunters. The people were healed in both blood and mind as no one but the hunters remembered Elliot.
"Well, well, if it is the hunter pair, Henryk and Gascoigne. I see your family is here, " Eileen the Crow said as she was leaning against the workshop as the pair walked up to her. "Heh, well on this fine, warm day with no beasts. What should we do? There is no need to hunt anymore." Gascoigne spoke as he grunted and entered the shop with his family. "Eileen, is that you? I wouldn't think you would dress up or even come here." Alfed said as he climbed the steps to the workshop in priestly clothing instead of his executioner attire. "Says the vileblood killer."Eileen Retorts as the go in inside together.
Outside the shop was many tables as dozens of hunters came for the funeral of the hunter who saved every one of them. "Cheers to the good hunter! To the outsider! To he the pale blood," some of the hunters said as the drunk and ate. After a minute the side of the workshop opened up to the duo and Eileen walking out while holding the coffin on their shoulders while Alfred had in his hand a holy book and in his other he was helping carry the coffin the best he could.
As the 4 walked down the path from the door came 3 legends of the hunters, Gehrman, Ludwig, and Lady Maria stood there. "He was right when he said my hunters were the Spartans I wanted them to be. I was never a real hero, I wasn't brave or truly strong. But that hunter fought me with no fear and beat me." Ludwig said as he looked to his personal shining hunter badge. "Yes, yes he is, even if I only meet him for a short time, I know that for sure." Maria said as she took her badge to her hand.
The funeral commenced as Alfred had spoken prayers and blessed the doll and Elliot before they were to go down to the earth. All hunters came up and spoke of Elliot in their way from a brave hunter to an untrained idiot to the professional of the hunt. No one denied any word that was spoken, and all were praise or greatfulness. As each hunter spoke their words, they left their badge on Elliot and left to the next person.
Gerhman rolled up to the 2 and kept quiet as he placed his badge onto Elliots' chest and looked to the 2 bodies. As he looked, both the hands of the doll and corpse had interlocked hands, and Elliot's eyes twitched slightly. Gerhman smiled as he shut the coffin. Gerhman then looked up in the sky to look at the cresent broken moon.
The 2 were set down into the dirt and covered so that they were never seen again.
