I stepped out of the house, and I saw my new friend dumping his garbage in the dumpster. I stopped walking and greeted him with a smile. "Miguel, good morning."
He looks at me and smiles, "Bonita, buenos días. Going somewhere?"
I nodded, "Yup. I'm eating out with a friend." I said.
"Have a good day." he said.
"You too." I said, and then I walked up to Beni's car.
"Quién es ese cabrón?" Beni asked as soon as I closed the car door.
I gave him a sidelong glance before laughing. "Don't curse. His name is Miguel, our new neighbor and my new friend. He moved into the house next to ours two weeks ago." I told him. Kayla and I got acquainted with him when he brought us his homemade dessert, and that's how we became friends. The three of us even went shopping yesterday.
"Where are we eating?" I asked while looking outside. His driver is driving the car, and he also brought a bodyguard with him, which is quite shocking because I never saw him with a bodyguard before. Well, he is famous after all.
"At a restaurante coreano." he said before asking, "He calls you Bonita?"
"Yup." I answered.
"I call you Bonita." he said.
"I know. He's also Latino." I told him.
"Qué? I thought I'm your only Latino friend. I call you Bonita, that's our thing." He said with an upset tone on his voice. What's with him? Is he jealous or something because he's not the only Latino friend I have now?
"Relax. You're still my bestie." I assured him. I suddenly remembered what I wanted to ask him last night. "I am curious about something. You're a guy, so it's better to ask you. How do you know when a guy likes a girl?" I asked while looking out the window. I looked at him to wait for his answer. Why does he look so serious? I don't think there's something wrong with what I asked.
"The cabrón likes you?" he asked, and I frowned 'cause he keeps calling poor Miguel a bastard.
"Beni, stop calling him cabrón. Be nice." I warned him. "I don't know if he likes me, but he always smiles at me every time we see each other. Maybe he's just the friendly type of person. Also, he stares too much when he talks to me, making me feel anxious. Do you think he likes me?" I may be getting ahead of myself, which is why I asked Beni's opinion.
"That cabrón likes you." He answered.
I grinned, but I quickly wiped the smile off my face. "Is that so?" Knowing that someone likes me, makes me feel good. I don't like him, I just met him but still. I'm still not sure if he really likes me that way but still, I'm happy.
"Happy?" He asked while looking at me.
"Of course." I answered with a smile on my face. I took out my phone and checked my notifications. It looks like Miguel posted our photo together yesterday.
"I like you." I heard Beni said.
"I like you too." I said while looking at my phone. I sure do look good in this picture. I immediately liked our picture.
"Do you like him?" he asked and I nodded.
"Que? You don't even know that dumbass..." he said then he started saying something in Spanish which I cannot understand. Although I can't understand him, I believe he is reprimanding me. He had the same reaction as my mother when she found out about my high school crush.
