Chapter 7

Lei's Pov

I walk in thinking in a loop of Master's final teachings to me as I enter the kitchen seeing Po cook he may not want to run a noodle shop but he definitely is a good cook. "so I'm like yeah you may be a wolf, you may be the scariest bandit in hajin province but your a lousy tipper" Po says finishing up the soup. "heh I was wondering what was on your mind that day..." I say a bit disheartened as Po looks at me confused. "uh yeah...are you ok?" Po says whispering the question to me as I nod my head no and sit down with everyone else spacing out. "really so how did you get out of there alive?" Crane asks as I wait for Po to serve before clearing my head I need time to process Master's passing I know I've only known him for three days but those three days he's accepted me and Po taught me my ancestors history and my abilities calmed me down when I was confused and was like the grandfather I never had he impacted my life beyond measure and I already miss him. "I mean um...I didn't actually say that...but I thought it...in my mind if he could read minds he would have been like "what?" order up! I hope you like it?" Po says serving us soup as I sigh and take it with me heading off to the roof to process Master's passing when I sense someone near me after being on the roof for a few minutes. "what's wrong Lei?" I hear a familiar voice being none other than viper I look at her for a moment and look away. "I can't...explain" I say shedding a tear as I start to quietly sob and I feel viper wrap herself around me hugging me as I return her hug...the best I can since she's a snake. "he's...gone..." I barley whisper "who's gone sweetie?" Viper asks with a worried expression "Master..." I say as she gasps and starts to cry with me mourning his passing which lasts for five minutes until I finally calm down. "he taught me all I know of my ancestors my people...my abilities...my new skills...and now...he's gone..." I say pouring out all of my emotions I've held within me for awhile. "I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO WITHOUT HIM...IM EMOTIONALLY UNSTABLE I'VE HURT AND SPREAD FEAR TO THOSE AROUND ME I MAY HAVE THESE ABILITIES BUT WHAT GOOD CAN IT DO IF I CANT USE THEM TO STOP A VENGEFUL MASTER OF KUNG FU?!...I...I'm not worthy...I'm just like Tai Lung" I say sighing in defeat. "Lei...being worthy isn't about your powers or skill it's... about your heart and doing what's right without asking for anything in return...you've protected Po physically, emotionally, and mentally for all your life without question would you do that even if he wasn't your brother?" She asks as I snap. "OF COURSE WITHOUT A SECOND THOUGHT!" I answer as I cover my mouth and look away from her. "Sweetie it's ok to be angry, sad...and confused grieving is a hard process for anyone to endure and see your kind heart is what makes you worthy you just need to work more on yourself remember what I told you even us Master's make mistakes and also remember this "grieving is the culmination of love we open our hearts to it"...never forget that" she says as I sniffle trying to ease my crying as I then see Po running down the stairs I try to stop him when I see the one thing I least expected shifu standing in Po's way. "why...why would he" I ask myself confused.

Po's Pov (5 minutes earlier)

"Wow this is really good!" Mantis compliments. "nah come on you should try my dad's secret ingredient soup he actually...knows the secret ingredient" I say a little disheartened especially since I don't know where my brother is. "bro what are you talking about this is amazing!" Mantis compliments. "wow your a really good cook" crane says enjoying his soup "I definitely wish my mouth was bigger!" Mantis says happily. "where's viper?" I asked noticing she's gone "not sure panda..." Tigress says coldly as monkey shrugs. "I think she's with Lei since he left?" He said unsure. "well I'll be sure to leave some soup for her when she returns. " I say honestly as mantis smiles at me. "tigress you really got to try this!" Monkey suggests as Tigress smirks at me. "it is said that the dragon warrior can survive months at a time on nothing but the dew of a single ginkgo leaf and the energy of the universe" she remarks as I look away for a second then try to laugh it off. "I guess my body doesn't know it's the Dragon warrior yet I'll need a lot more than dew and universe juice" I saw drinking the soup broth as everyone but tigress begins to laugh. "what?" I ask confused "Oh nothing Master shifu" mantis jokes as I notice the noodles on my mouth as everyone but tigress laughs and I get on my knees pretending to be master shifu. "you'll never be the Dragon warrior unless you lose 500 pounds and brush your teeth what's that noise you're making laughter I never heard of it work hard Panda and someday you will have ears like mine!" I imitate as everyone has a good laugh but Tigress. "that's good" crane admits as everyone stops laughing as I'm confused as to why. "ears!... It's not working for you I thought they were pretty good" I said mumbling to myself. "it's shifu" monkey whispers as I laugh a bit. "of course it's shifu what do you think I'm doing?" I ask thinking he wasn't getting my joke in the end when they look to my right and I look where they're looking and notice master shifu looking at us. "ooh master shifu ummm..." I say putting the bowls on my chest and slurping the last noodles as the others but Tigress laugh. "you think this is funny?! Tai Lung has escaped from prison and your acting like children!" Master shifu informs annoyed at my joke. "what?" I asked shocked "he's coming for the sword of heros and the dragon scroll and you and Lei are the only ones who can stop him!" Shifu says as the bowls fall off my chest. "and here I am saying you got no sense of humor...we're gonna stop...Tai Lung..." I say laughing then whispering when I notice his serious expression. "wait your serious and I...and Lei he could...uh get killed...um Master Oogway will stop him he did it before he'll do it again!" I say not wanting Lei to get killed and knowing shifu thinks I'm not the dragon warrior. "Oogway cannot!...not anymore..." He says holding his staff as the four of the five gasps in shock "our only hope is the Dragon warrior and the lightning blade wielder..." He admits as Tigress gets up in protest. "that HUMAN...and the PANDA?!" She asks shocked. "yes them!" Shifu says to her. "Master please let us stop Tai Lung this is what you trained us for!" She begs. "no it is not your destiny to defeat Tai Lung it is there's...where's the panda?" I hear as I start to run away screaming in fear when shifu blocks my path surprising me. "you cannot leave a real warrior never quits!" He says to me. "watch me!" I say trying to juke him when he uses Oogway's staff to stop me. "come on how can I beat Tai Lung I can't even beat you to the stairs!" I retort. "you will beat him because you are the dragon warrior!" He says poking my belly. "you don't believe that you never believed that from the first moment I got here you've been trying to get rid of me!" I remark trying to escape again. "yes I was but now I ask you to trust in your master as I have come to trust in mine!" He asks me. "your not my master...and I'm not the dragon warrior!" I remark back. "then why didn't you quit you knew I was trying to get rid of you but you stayed!" He asks me confused. "yeah I stayed I stayed because no matter how many times you threw a brick at my head or said I smelled it hurt...but it could never hurt more then every day of my life just being me...Lei gets to be himself I don't have that luxury...I'm told I'm destined to run a noodle shop when that's not who I am...I'm more than that...I stayed because I thought if anyone could change me could make me not me it was you the greatest Kung Fu teacher in all of China!" I explain. "but I can change you I can turn you into the dragon warrior and I will!" He says extremely determined as I am confused as to why now he's so dead set on me when he hated me before. "come on Tai Lung is on his way here right now and even if it took him a hundred years to get here how can you turn this into the dragon warrior huh?!" I ask him gesturing myself. "how?...how?!...HOW?!" I ask slowly when he snaps. "I don't know!" He admits"I don't know..." He says to himself. "that's what I thought..." I said depressed and sit down to think about everything I went through to now.

Tigress's Pov

I see Master talking to that panda noticing how hurt he looked. 'why do I feel so hurt seeing him this sad he seemed so... familiar ever since I heard him say big fan a few days ago?' I think to myself and shrug it off and ignore it as I jump off the roof and do some parkour catching my breath when I land on another roof. "this is what you trained me for..." I say determined to beat Tai Lung when I notice the rest of the five including viper "Tigress!" She yells as they follow me. "don't try to stop me!" I warn. "we're not trying to stop you" she says which surprises me. "what?" I ask shocked "were coming with you!" She says as monkey does a thumbs up which makes me grin oh Tai Lung is screwed now. 'your rage will not hurt or destroy anyone else ever again!' I think to myself as we all rush to the bridge prepared to face him.
