You were too anxious to sleep, hoping your last message with the famous footballer wouldn't be your last, but knowing deep down inside it could very well be. You tried to get as much needed rest as you could since you were returning to work that night for your last shift of the week, however, your thoughts clouded you and you knew you would be regretting this at 3 am as you are handling out meds.
You finally rose from your bed around 4 in the afternoon slowly getting ready for work, and so dreading it. You checked your phone constantly like you were waiting on an important phone call from the president or queen. Your last message to Christian was delivered and left on read, meaning he had your information, he just hasn't actually reached out since you didn't have any unknown ID messages.
You roll your eyes and mutter, "Too good to be true. Stupid you actually thought,"
"Who are you talking to?" my friend asks as she stood in the doorway.
"Nothing," I decided not to share, saving myself from embarrassment.
She then went on to talk about her day at work as I was getting ready for mine, "You are off tomorrow?" she asked.
I nodded, "Excited to do nothing but sleep,"
"You're not being serious? Come on, I know you are a homebody, but let's get you back out there. There is more to life than work, books, and binge-watching docu-series"
"Really there is more to life than binge-watching docu-series? Cause I'm pretty content," I said as I gathered my lunch for the night.
"Let's go out tomorrow"
"Nahh"
"Come on, it'll be fun"
"Nahh"
"Think about it?"
"Sure," I said as I ended the conversation by walking out our apartment door and into the parking garage.

After the longest shift of my life, and finally coming to terms with that I probably scared Christian away, I finally made it home and crashed into my bed.
It didn't take long for my roommate to walk into my door, "Good morning princess,"
"Shut the fuck up, let me sleep."
"Okay, I will let you sleep, but we are going out tonight," she said as she walked out of my room.
"Mhmm" I mumbled something else that probably sounded like alien jargon and as I was finally drifting off to sleep I hear my phone go off twice. I ignore it per usual, but at the same time I needed to get up to shower before I fully slept, so on my way to the bathroom, I grabbed my phone.
As I turned my shower on to scorching hot I looked at my missed messages to find 2 messages from an unknown number. I opened them as the steam started to spread through the room, the messages read
'Heyy'
'This is Christian'
I squealed. I was shocked after not hearing much from him since the last time we talked. At first, I didn't know what to say, kinda shy, but I eventually sent him a text before hopping in the shower.
'Hii'
After I hopped out of the shower I noticed another text from Christian
'What's up?'
Wrapped in a single towel, I replied, 'Just got home from work'
Almost immediately I received another text from him, 'Ahh so you're going to bed?'
'Yes. I'm beat :('
'Okay well, maybe I will catch you later?'
'I will text you when I wake up from my coffin sleep lol' - "Oh my I'm so cringe why would I send that" I muttered to myself as I got dressed and in bed. Soon after shutting my blind and making it as dark as I could in my room, I saw he replied with a thumbs-up emoji. Maybe my weirdness doesn't phase him, but it will if I continue. I groaned at my sore body and drifted off to sleep.
--
"Get up, it's 7 in the afternoon. We are going out tonight remember? So get up, get pretty, and get dressed." My roommate yelled obnoxiously loud.
I groaned as I reached for my phone to see any missed notifications. After addressing the pending notifications I finally get up and do some hygiene care before starting to pick out an outfit. During this I texted Christian first this time, 'I've woken hah'
For the night out I picked a simple tan one-shoulder crop top with mom jeans and I throw on some converse. I walk out of my room to find my roommate all dolled up and waiting, "Let me just say this. I will not be drinking tequila tonight." I let out a laugh and my phone vibrates.
I quickly pull it out to find a text from Christian, 'Hey sleepy head. What are you up to?'
"You seem to be early checking your phone more often now, why?" my roommate's voice distracts me from his text.
"It's just work.." I said as I replied to Christian, 'My roommate is having me go out tonight for a bit. Wish me luck lol'
"Let's go the uber is here," she said before dragging me out of our apartment.
'Wish I could come with' Christian replied
After he sent that text a few seconds later he sent you a Snapchat. You got nervous opening it but glad when you did it was him smiling with a headset on and below his face it read, "I'm playing video games"
I giggled and took a selfie and sent it back to him then replied to his text, 'Are the video games that boring?'
'Not boring, but could be doing something more fun'
'Like what?' I replied
'Talking to you. Wanna facetime later when you get home from partying or tomorrow?' he asked.
'I don't "party" often, but since I'm off for the next few days I'm taking advantage. Plus I hate people I wanted to stay home. Blame my roommate for that.'
'You hate people yet you are a nurse haha. I'll have to talk to her then'
'I don't hate people, but I am more of a homebody. I might have to call you later to save me and allow me to go home early'
'hahaha okay, just let me know. Be safe and have fun. Maybe we can facetime tomorrow and get to know each other more!'
'Definitely'
