Chapter 5

   

   After reading several times and practicing the water element, I can now gather the water in the air and handle it. It will take me more time to improve since I don't have a master. But it should be fine. I want to reach the level of instinctive use and maybe even be able to manipulate water in living beings, the most difficult level of water handling: blood. Why? I find it badass but apparently you have to learn anatomy, which i dont really want to do right now.

I found a collection of practical spells such as levitate, clean or support. As well as advanced spells like flies, heavy as a feather light like a mountain, teleports. I will try advanced spells a few months before going to Chester, I'm still too novice for them.

On the other hand, even if it is an advanced spell, I absolutely have to learn camouflage within 5 months, the earth element is quite rare which makes it recognizable for experienced mages. It will be easy for me to hide my progress at first thanks to the high concentrate of magic in the air. Even if Father is a aura user , he will end up realizing something if I don't hide properly.

The servants and employees have  to be at least 3rd rank novice mages, so I am not very indexed but if I develop quickly and use an element different from fire and water, I will get caught. That's why I've been practicing camouflage for a month. I hope it will work. My goal is to pass for a person who doesn't even have an ounce of magical learning. I can't hide the high concentration of mana because I'm a Praus but I have to hide my circles.

I gave myself one year per element. This year I learn and focus on water, next year I will start earth, then ice and finally air. It is family thing to handle fire, I will avoid this element. I'll be discovered right away if I get started. Each user is extremely sensitive to his element.

In addition to the elements, I need the basics of healing and protection. In Chester, I will focus on fire, earth, sound and scroll creation. Chester is a mountainous, extremely cold and quite dry land in the north with mild temperature in the south. In the winter, there's several goblins and magic beast attack. There's just five healer in the Knignts of Chester. Before hiring more, i will have to help.

I stand in front of the door and wait for him to tell me to come in.

I move forward and lower my head. If I look at him I think he will realize that I don't care what he has to say. Unlike grandfather whom I accepted as my own family because even dead he helps me a lot, I prefer not to consider Katrina's father as mine.

It's winter and I'm 14 years old. I found my documents. When I think that the heir's birth certificate is in an old dusty box! I was born on October 11nth. The more I put away, the more I found important things. Of course I didn't keep them all to myself. I gave a few to the patriarch. At least it gives him the impression that I'm a little useful for something. And kept what will serve me the most.

Thanks to this I got some 'favors'. Now I have a mattress! And a blanket! Yes you are right those are necessities not favors but I must be excited by something apart from my progress in magic.
