(Roe's P.O.V.)
Pauline dragged me across the market street. I opened my mouth to tell her to slow down. But as soon as the first word left my mouth. My hand, that she was holding, was squeezed harshly in a painfull manner. Instinctively, I tried to pull away from her but it only resulted in her squeezing my hand even harder. I looked up at her and she had a wicked smirk on her face "does that hurt?". I kept quiet, knowing exactly what she wanted from me. To be quiet. I lowered my head and felt the release of pain in my hand. She then continued to walk further and pulled me roughly along with her over the market. I tried to look around for something that could help me. Mostly for someone that I knew, then I could show them that I had found my voice again. Whenever I was alone, I would softly try to use my voice again. Although, I flinched every time a sound came from my lips as an instict. I still kept trying because I didn't want to forget again. But sadly, while looking around, I didn't see anyone. But then, I did see someone familiar and I just had to try it. I roughly pulled my hand from Pauline's grip and made a run for the person. "Polly!" I yelled out and she turned to look my way."Polly!" I yelled and I could see her eyes go wide with realization that I just talked. Behind me Pauline was still trying to catch up to me. I quickly hid behind Polly's legs as soon as I arrived by her. She put her hand over my head in a protective manner, trying to shield me away from Pauline before turning to Pauline who had arrived. "Looks like she found her voice" Polly stated in a matter of fact. Pauline chuckled "you have a very imaginative mind, Polly-", "Mrs Gray" Polly snapped back. Pauline nodded to adjust her sentence "Mrs Gray" before continuing. "You, and your nephew Tommy, desperatly want to hear her speak that your mind will play tricks on you". Polly looked down at me. "She didn't talk. She, just, simply ran over to you. Nothing more". I could tell Polly didn't agree with her before looking down at me. "Oh, you don't believe me" Pauline questioned, "let me show you". She leaned passed Polly and roughly grabbed a hold of me. Without a warning she began her usuall tactic to keep me quiet, although less intense. But it still scared me enough to keep quiet. Pauline soon stopped to turn to Polly "see? Not a squeak" she said with a smirk before standing up and grabbing my hand again.

"Now, if you'll excuse us" Pauline said before turning around and pulling Roelynn with her. My eyes looked down at little Roe who reached her hand out for me. Her eyes showed desperation, like she begged me to believe that she had talked. My heart ached as I stayed on my spot. After all, I couldn't do anything, I had no actuall proof, beside thinking, that Roe had indeed talked. There was no one else around, apart from Pauline, Roelynn and myself. I sighed and felt guilt wash over me as Roelynn dissapeared out of my sight. I quickly turned around and got into my car. As quick as I could, I drove towards Tommy's house. My heels clicked against the floorboards of Tommy's house. "Mrs Gray" a maid said trying to stop me, "Mr Shelby is in a meeting". I ignored her and pushed through the door. "Poll, not now" Tommy told me before motioning for Arthur to continue talking. "She talked" I announcend as Arthur continued. "Wait" Tommy said telling his brother to be quiet before turning to me, "what did you say?" He asked, wanting me to repeat it so he was sure he heard me correctly. "Roelynn talked". He turned his head and I could literally see the gears turning in his head. Thinking of a plan.
Without saying a word, Tommy walked out of his office. I had an idea where he was going to.
(Tommy's P.O.V.)
After the car ride, I stopped my car by the large house. Determined, I got out the car and banged on the door loudly. "Can I help you, Sir?" A maid asked opening the door. I ignored her and pushed past her to get inside the house. "Roe?" I called out as I searched around the house, "Roelynn!". "Mr Shelby" I heard Pauline as she walked towards me, "you're not supposed to be here". "Where is she. Where is Roelynn?" I asked still looking around for my child. "Why do you want her for?" She asked, "I'm taking her home" I simply told her. She scoffed in response "you can't do that, Mr Shelby". "She talked. Polly told me. So I'm taling her home" I told her, "beside Polly, can anyone else back-up that claim?" She questioned, "because I didn't hear her talk". My fist clenched and I turned to look further "Roelynn!". I walked into the livingroom and saw her sitting on the ground while holding Mr Monty. She noticed me aswell. "Roe" I sighed and walked towards her and leaned down on my knee. I cupped her cheeks in my hands and lifted her head up. "I'm taking you home" I said with a smile and pulled a loose strand of hair behind her ears, "Polly told me you talked". She just stared at me. "Mr Shelby, let me ask you a question" Pauline said walking in aswell. "What makes you think Polly is telling the truth? Because the both of us know about her... hallucinations". I glared at her for talking bad about my family, before turning around to Roelynn. "Roelynn, darling, please say something. Anything. Then I can take you home" I said despeartely. But nothing came out of her mouth.(Roe's P.O.V.)
I looked at daddy as he begged me to talk. But I couldn't. Because behind him, out of his line of sight, Pauline was holding a gun. And it was pointed at his head. I knew that as soon as I opened my mouth to say something. She would pull the trigger and kill him. So I kept my mouth shut. I could see the sadness in his eyes and he placed his hand on my face. "We'll find another way, my Little Roe" he answered before leaning forward and placing a kiss on my forehead. Then he stood up and I could see Pauline quickly hide the gun as soon as Daddy turned around to face her. "When the time comes that she does speak. you better run because I'm going to destroy you for what you've taken from me. But especially for the scars you left on her".(Tommy's P.O.V.)
I lowered my eyes at her as I reminded her of the scars I saw just peaking out from the collar of Roe's shirt. I desperatly had to control my anger simply because of the fact, that if I did lash out at her. No judge would ever grant me back my custody."You left her again!?" Polly yelled angrily. "I had no choice" I replied, "yes you did! She talked!". "Not when I was there" I loudly yelled back at her. None of us said a word after that and a tense atmosphere filled my office. "You think I made it up?" She then questioned breaking the silence. I shook my head "no, I saw it in Roe's eyes that she wanted to talk". "Then why didn't she?" Polly questioned not understanding why Roe would talk with her, but not with me. I shrugged my shoulders "I have absolutely no clue". I turned around to look out my window not wanting to continue this conversation, because it was no use. Then I saw something perculier and I went closer to the window to take a good look.
It was actually not a what but a who. And they where making their way onto my driveway. Running to exact. My eyes went wide realising who it was exactly. Polly lifted her head to me "what?" She questioned as she saw me frantically go out of my office. But I didn't even give her an answer back because I immediatly ran out my office to go towards my Little Roe.
