The Unexpected (LawLu)

CHAPTER 1

For some background info, not all of the Straw Hats are here at this point.

Sanji, Nami, Brook, Chopper, Ceasar (from Punk Hazard), and Momonosuke left Dressrosa early and arrived at their destination, Zou, earlier than the rest.

The Barto Club sailed with the remaining Straw Hats and Trafalgar D. Water Law to their destination, following the Vivre Card for Bepo, the Heart Pirates navigator.

On the Going Luffy-Senpai~

Law was sitting on deck minding his own business. He had become accustomed to sitting on his own here. He wasn't the one who the entire Barto Club idolized, after all. In the background he could hear Bartolomeo rambling on about Luffys adventures. Law listened in, hearing about how all of the crew came to join the eccentric teen. He couldn't help but chuckle. Hell, even he had somehow managed to join the group. Only as an ally of course. 

As Law listened in, on the other side of the ship Luffy looked out at the water from his perch on the bow of the ship. He may have looked calm, but his mind was racing. He was worried for the other part of his crew who had went ahead. The last he heard from them they were facing off against the Big Mom pirates. Luffy had a habit of acting carefree, but inside he was anything but that. Ever since the loss of his brother, Fire Fist Ace, he has had severe separation anxiety. Noone knew, of course. He would never tell his crew about something like this. He had to be a strong and reliable captain for them. But nevertheless, he was nervous.

Luffy looked back at the rest of the ship, and saw Law looking at Bartolomeo with a smile on his face. Luffy stared for a second, and felt a small smile creep onto his face.

'What a cute smile Torao has...'

...

'Wait.... what did I just think?'

Luffy couldn't quite place the feeling he had. He brushed it off and ran up to Bartolomeo. 

"OIIIII Crest-Head! I want MEAT!!" Luffy yelled.

"Right away Luffy-senpai!!" Bartolomeo saluted then ran off to prepare it, crying in the process.

The Barto Club fixed all the meat they had on the ship and placed it all on the table. They brought out all of their sake too. Everyone gathered around the table. Law sat down on Luffys left, and for some reason Luffy's heart beat just a tiny bit faster when he noticed. He just thought it was because he was hungry and dug into the food. Zoro sat on his right and ate some food, but mostly just drank. Kin'emon, Kanjuro, Robin, Usopp and Franky took their places around the table as well. 

Once the food was gone, Law sat back a bit and addressed the group. 

"We need to figure out a plan for when we get to Zou. We haven't talked about it since we departed from Dressrosa and there is only another week or so until we get there." Law explained

"Of course we are going to go get our friends!!" Luffy replied to Law.

"Luffy, that's not exactly a plan... though you never really have one, do you?" Robin chuckled.

"Nope!! Shishishishi" Luffy laughed.

Law just sat there in awe. 'How the fuck has he even survived this long?!?' he thought to himself. He just let it go and decided to ask closer to time. No need to worry about it right this minute. He started to get up to go back to his chair, but when he started to rise he noticed Luffy grabbing onto his shirt and looking up at him. 

"Where are you going Torao?" Luffy asked. For some reason he had felt... sad, when Law got up.

"Just back to my chair," Law replied pointing to the spot he had occupied earlier.

"Oh, okay then..." Luffy said as he let go of Laws shirt and Law walked to the chair and sat down, pulling his hat over his eyes. 

'What the hell is wrong with me? Why the fuck did I do that? And what was that feeling of disappointment I felt? Do I...? No. Ive never liked anyone, why would I start now? Ive only ever cared about meat. Yeah, Ill stick with meat!!' Luffy thought to himself zoning out. Zoro noticed Luffy looked... strange compared to his usual carefree manner. He let it go though, his captain was capable of dealing with his own problems. Its Luffy after all. 

Everyone spread out to do their own thing, and Luffy once again got lost in his thoughts. Except now instead of just thinking about his missing crew, he also had Law on his mind... He wanted to see Law smile again. He wanted Law to sit next to him and not get up. While he was thinking these things, his normally slow brain put the pieces together rather quick. A lot quicker than normal. 

'Fuckkkkkk......'
