The Unexpected (LawLu)

CHAPTER 9

 Just a heads up, this chapter may be a bit short. I'm not sure yet.

3 days later (2 days until Zou arrival)~

Law hasn't talked to Luffy once in the past 3 days. Not since the incident with Zoro. Law doesn't even come to meals anymore. He skipped lunch again today. Its like he's completely avoiding Luffy. 

Well, Luffy has had enough. 

"I am going to talk to him. I can't take this anymore," Luffy told Zoro.

"He's too stubborn," Zoro said rolling his eyes.

"It's been 3 days Zoro. I need to talk to him. Even if I have to corner him," Luffy said pouting.

"If you think that's what's best, then you do you captain," Zoro said patting Luffy on the back.

Luffy walked off to try to find Law. It took him at least 30 minutes of walking around the ship to finally find him hiding in the map room of the ship. 

Luffy went up to Law and grabbed his hand, "Get up and come with me."

Law's eyes widened, but he did as he was told. He followed Luffy until they were in the storage room where they had met 2 times before.

"What do you want Luffy-ya?" Law inquired coldly. He didn't want to be here.

"I want to know why you are avoiding me. I'm not as dense as you think. I've noticed Torao," Luffy said, giving Law a glare that basically said 'tell the truth'.

"It doesn't matter. We don't have to get involved with each other. We are just allied for one thing and one thing only, and that's to defeat Kaido. Once we accomplish that, we are enemies again," Law replied in a cold voice looking away from Luffy's gaze.

"We don't have to be. We could stay allies, you know. It's our choice after all. We are the captains of our ships, and our crews will follow what we decide," Luffy said in frustration.

Law finally locked eyes with the teen, giving a hard glare. "What don't you understand Luffy-ya? I am using you for my own benefit then I'm out."

"Then why did you look so mad when Zoro kissed me? Why did you start avoiding me after that?" Luffy interrogated.

"You and Roronoa-ya's relationship is none of my business. If you two are dating then good for you." Law uttered.

"Why are you lying!? Why won't you even look at me? If you're mad say that! If you're jealous say that!! I CAN'T DEAL WITH YOU AVOIDING ME ANYMORE!!!" Luffy screamed at Law, grabbing his shirt and shaking him.

"FINE!! IM JEALOUS!!" Law screamed back. "I want to be the one kissing you, cuddling with you, and sitting beside you. But instead Roronoa-ya is the one who gets the privilege. Every time I see you and him close and all lovey I want to rip him off of you. It's not my place because you aren't my boyfriend. You don't have feelings for me. I'm trying my best not to have feelings for you, so why? WHY DO YOU ALWAYS COME BACK!?!"

"Because, I like you!!" Luffy confessed. "I have for a while, but I realized it a few days ago. I like you Law, I thought I was making it obvious. Me and Zoro are only friends. The kiss was an attempt to make you jealous. I wanted you to do something about Zoro. Do ANYTHING to show your feelings!! Instead you did nothing." Luffy looked at the ground.

Law's eyes widened in shock, "W-what?"

Luffy looked back up to Law's eyes, "I said I like you... Law."

Law's  eyes were wide, and his face was red. He couldn't believe what he had just heard. "Y-you called me by my name."

"That's what stuck in your mind?? Not the fact that I like you and not Zoro?" Luffy asked chuckling.

"B-but you and him kissed! And you are always together and hanging on each other! And you sleep together!!" Law retorted.

"The kiss was a one time thing, as I've explained. And everything else is all as friends. He's my best friend. I may be gay, but I don't think of him like that. He's just comfortable to lay on," Luffy explained.

"O-oh." Law said

Law looked into Luffy's eyes, as Luffy did the same. They just shared a moment, until Law leaned in and asked, "Can I kiss you?"

Luffy gave a small smile and chuckled, "I thought you'd never ask."

They both closed the gap and shared a moment of pure emotion. Tears welled in Luffy's eyes, he was so happy. He hadn't known just how much he had wanted Law. Not until right now.

Law was the first to pull back. When he saw the tears on Luffy's cheeks he gently wiped them off and smiled.

"I'm sorry I avoided you," Law apologized.

"I'm sorry I let Zoro kiss me," Luffy replied. "If it makes you feel any better, I wanted him to be you the entire time."

"It makes me feel a little bit better," Law said and laughed lightly. The 2 males slid to the floor and just talked while holding each other.

"FINALLY SOME PROGRESS!!"

Is what you're all thinking I'm sure. But I still don't want to rush it.
