Chapter 15.3

"How's Aether?"

The attention fell upon one of the doctors as soon as he stepped out into the hallway.

The elder doctor glanced around the group of girls waiting outside the room before answering, "His wounds are dressed, and his concussion appears to be on the mild side. Safe to say he rests for now."

"Can we go in and see him?" Paimon urged, almost interrupting the doctor.

The silver-haired man responds by shaking his head, "Now isn't wise for visitation. Better for him to sleep for the rest of the night."

Paimon was eager to insist on seeing him when Barbara stopped her, "Then we should wait until tomorrow." She glanced at Klee at her side. "Isn't that right?"

"Right." Klee agreed, taking Barbara's hand.

"Paimon, we should take this time to get ready for bed," Barbara added while a pair of maids appeared to be approaching in their direction.

"What about grandmaster Jean?" Klee glanced around the hallway.

"I believe she is being seen by her doctor at the moment." One of the petite maids answered. "Your rooms are ready for the night, and dinner is in preparation."

Barbara was first to move but didn't dismiss Paimon's hesitation as she politely motioned for her to follow. "Tomorrow." A reassuring smile hinted on her lips. "Let's give him time to rest."

The trio silently turns to follow the maids through a long corridor and into another hallway.

Several minutes later, in a separate hallway, the acting grandmaster was able to leave the privacy of her room. Curiously taking note of the prolonged silence within the hallways, Jean approached Adeline, idly waiting outside her room. "Where is everyone?"

The head maid patiently turned to her while holding a white medical kit, "Miss Barbara and the rest of our guests are currently getting ready for dinner and should be heading downstairs shortly."

Jean acknowledged the arrangements and couldn't help but stare at the box in Adeline's possession, "How's Aether? Are you on your way to his room?" The acting grandmaster fixed to close her nightrobe tightly.

Adeline glanced down at the kit in her arms, "Oh, this? Not necessarily." The head maid stepped to the side. "Elzer passed a short moment ago requesting I bring more bandages to master Diluc's room once you were done being examined and escorted downstairs."

"That's right..." Jean's voice trailed off, remembering Diluc was also undergoing treatment for his burns.

Shortly after arriving at the winery, it wasn't long before everyone was taken in separate directions.

The doctor from Liyue immediately met with Jean in the privacy of her room. Diluc was taken to his room to treat his wounds, and the rest of the girls rushed to find out about Aether's condition.

The examination conducted on Jean didn't take long. Fortunately, her doctor didn't find any complications with her pregnancy. However, the presence of twins didn't fail to startle her a second time as a professional finally confirmed the news. That didn't save her from the short lecture that ensued. Because of her earlier actions and riding in a carriage without proper traveling measures, her body presumed to experience annoying aches in her joints. Even after taking a shower and changing into comfortable clothes, the aches subtly lingered.

"Aether's condition has improved. One of our doctors was able to confirm his condition before moving to assist master Diluc with his treatments." Adeline motioned for Jean to follow her down the hallway toward the stairs, "It shouldn't be much longer."
