Wendy pov.

I looked around to see if I could see a weapon, because if there's something out there that even Peter is nervous about, I can't take it lightly.

Fortunately, there was one solitary bow in this smaller cave with arrows in its quiver, which I draped over my head.I don't even know why I'm taking a gun if I'm absolutely not good with it. Well, at least I'll feel better about not going empty-handed.

There was still quite a bit of chaos out there and that was satisfactory for me because they wouldn't be looking out for me. I ran out of the cave as fast as I could and slipped deftly out of the camp in my crouch, and then I was in full swing. I took one last look back at the camp, thinking I really wouldn't miss it, because I don't want to be cooped up in a cage anymore.

I was running just past a pool and because I'd been running for a long time, I needed to rest for a while. I wasn't used to running either. Relieved, I stretched out into the pleasantly soft grass that was around the pool.

I gazed dreamily at the night landscape, completely forgetting where and what my situation was now. Are my parents looking at the same sky as me right now? Is he thinking about me, too? Are they looking for me or have they forgotten me?I just closed my eyes and listened to the still night. It felt like it was just a dream. I open my eyes and find that I don't have to go anywhere near my aunt and I'm in our tiny garden.

Then I heard men's voices nearby, and they jolted me out of my reverie. I got quickly to my feet and climbed the nearest tree. I mean, she scrambled, I was never allowed to climb trees and I could use it so much right now! When I saw these figures shining in the moonlight, I had to cover my mouth so I wouldn't scream out in terror..
