CHAPTER 6

@Nicholas:

Malapit na ako Elaine, traffic kasi.

Me:

It's okay, hindi naman ako nagmamadali.

Matapos isend iyon ay in-off ko agad ang phone ko. I checked my face once again.

Kagabi, I told him the wholestory about my cheeks. But surprisingly, He didn't judge me just like what I've expected. Instead, He asked me first kung anong nangyari bago ako sinampal ni Dad.

I told him what I'd told Dad. Sinabi ko sakaniya lahat ang masasamang nasabi ko kay Dad. He was mad at Dad at first, but after I told him that, ako naman ang pinagalitan niya. Pinagsasabihan niya ako na hindi ko dapat sinabi sa Dad ko yun kahit anong galit ko sakaniya. I shouldn't disrespect my Dad. Because after all, at the end of the day, he's still my Dad.

Pero pagkatapos niya naman akong pinagsabihan, he said sorry. He's just too kind. His parents are indeed so lucky to have him. And his future.. girlfriend.

Pinagaan niya ang loob ko after that. He makes me smile. Pinapatawa niya ako sa mga kalokohan niya. I didn't expect him to have that side. I mean, he's so serious, he's intimidating.

He also promised that today, he will make me forget what happened about yesterday. Instead, he'll replace it with a memorable one and a great memory to cherish.

Well, let's see. Pero kahit naman siguro kahit saan, kapag siya ang kasama ko, it will still be a great memory to cherish.

Lumipas ang ilang minuto, natatanaw ko na siya sa labas ng gate kaya nagpaalam na ako kay Manang.

Sumandal siya sa gilid at dumungaw sa phone niya.

I walked slowly to scare him.

Ngunit nang tuluyan na akong makalapit sakaniya, surprisingly, tumunog ang phone ko sa isang message, and it's from Nicholas.

Ginawaran ko siya ng hilaw na ngiti at nagtungo sa harapan niya. He raised his brows at me.

He stared at me for a minute, hanggang sa bumaba ang tingin niya sa pisngi ko.

Hindi na ito namumula tulad kahapon.

"Hindi na ba mahapdi?" Tanong niya.

I shook my head.

"Hindi na, and also, Manang helped me kagabi."

Dahan-dahan siyang tumango at ngumiti sakin.

"So, are you ready?"

"What do you mean by that? " My forehead now slightly creased.

He cleared his throat.

"Wala akong sasakyan Elaine." He bluntly said.

I really admire him for his honesty. Alam ko naman na yun. But still, sinabi niya parin sakin.

Because nowadays, a lot of people find lying a normal thing. Pretending also. They pretend that they're coming from a well-off family. And Nicholas obviously is not part of that people. He's bold and honest.

"Alam ko Nicholas. Pwede naman tayong mag conmute diba?" I confidently said.

Narinig ko ang munting tawa niya.

"Why are you laughing? Bakit? Hindi ba tayo mag coconmute? Maglalakad tayo, ganun?"

"Elaine, it's not conmute." Natatawa niyang sabi.
